Problem and Determination of harmful substances emissions Air purity and herewith the avoidance respectively the reduction of pollutantemission produced by firing plants reflects the imperative challenge of the present time and requires corresponding measures. Environmental dedicated political regulations issued by legislators have to be observed and ecological aspects increasingly become more important in business decision processes. Who wants to solve problems here is depending on the exact recording, monitoring and evaluation of the emission data directly on the spot and consequently requires precise measuring-technology. Besides concepts for a targeted environmental management, measures aiming at combustible firing reduction and at cost-savings are also demanded. Mobile systems and quick operability of the measuring-technology by simultaneous operation and handling safety, as well as stable accuracy of all measuring channels represent the minimal requirements set to modern measuring technology. The multi-components analyser rbrecom SG PLUS is such a system. It has been successfully tested according to the DIN Measurement of gaseous emissions Continuously operating apparatus for single measurements of nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide for the channels NO and NO2 as well as for the channels O2, CO and SO2 in reference to the DIN 33962

... solution The multi-components analyser rbrecom SG PLUS can be used for various applications: Determination of pollutant emissions at combustion plants fired with solid, liquid or gaseous combustibles. This offers the operator of authorisation-depending plants a high safety level for the respect of the legal limit values and the limitation of emissions in regards of official control procedures and acceptance. Monitoring of the optimum firing efficiency and optimum effectiveness of pollutant reducing processes. In addition to the regular maintenance procedures of industrial firing plants, regular gas analyses can monitor and document the optimum fuel combustion and operation safety. All advantages at one glance Separate NO2 measurent Integral gas cooler Average values calculator Sensors with intelligent signal processing Software adjustment Reduction of error sources thru compact and fine-tuned appliance-system Heated sampling system with heated pre-filter High performance by easy operation Control of existing measurement and control systems The diversity of the measured parameters enables the function check of the most different, existing measuring systems and the tracing of hidden deficiencies e.g. during sampling. This easy, software-driven adjustable measuring system enables the reliable determination of reference- and control values.

The optimum multi-components analyser Years of experience in the field of emission monitoring using electrochemistry enabled the development of this extended multicomponents analyser. The integral sampling system, especially tuned-in to electrochemical sensors ensures a constant measurement accuracy, a long-term stability and prevents wash out losses by water-soluble substances analysis. Heated sampling system with pre-filter and gas cooler The separately heated probe head with stainless steel tube contains a PTFE pre-filter which efficiently catches particles and reliably prevents dew point lower deviations.the sampled gas is transported via the heated sampling hose with temperature regulation to the Peltiercooled gas heat exchanger in which moisture and finest residual particles will be filtered and continuously evacuated. An additional fine-filter beyond the gas cooler provides the sensors with nearly pure gas conditions and herewith long-time endurance.gas flow and condensation evacuation are hereby under constant electrical monitoring. Clear operation and programming The clear keyboard, designed to withstand the worst operation conditions allows the simplest operation and use of the analysis system. The menu-driven software program leads the user thru the single inputs and displays the results as measurement values digest, as mean values table upon the integration period or as a state information on the 8 x 40 characters large and backlit display. Further processing The comprehensive interfaces of the system enable a various and universal further processing of all measurement data as ASCII data in a proper operation software or compatible with current calculation and presentation software programs. The software delivered standardly with the instrument enables furthermore the online operation of a PC or Laptop, e.g. in control or switch rooms with simultaneous display, recording and report. The data recorded on an S- RAM card can be read directly by the instrument or via an external reading unit with help of the standard software. The 8 analogue outputs (0 resp ma) enable the drive of current multichannels recorders with the signals of the measurement channels.

Serial, parallel and analog interfaces Clear keyboard, backlit LCD-display Slot for S-RAM card Condensation evacuation Program structure and input possibilities allow a completely selfcontrolled operation, this including data management. The integral 58 mm wide protocol printer can print the measurement and calculated mean values as well as the programmed parameters for the system s control. Sensors with intelligent signal processing To protect the electrochemical sensors against overloading thru short-time range exceedings (e.g. by emission peak values), the program controls the output signals and switches specific or all sensors to fresh air supply. A permanent plausibility check for the average calculation occurs on the base of an adjustable O2 limit value. Modern adjustment technique A modern adjustment process secures a high measurement accuracy even by fluctuating operation conditions, e.g. by increase of the surrounding temperature Accessories External RAM card reading unit rbr-ecom RL The external RAM card reader enables a quick and comfortable reading on the PC or Laptop of the data stored on the S-RAM card previously inserted in the instrument, thus without requiring the latest. Remote control/ display rbr-ecom Z Four values can be displayed simultaneously on the backlit display of the rbr-ecom Z. Data recording and printout issue of the current values can also be monitored. The maximal cable length is 50 m. The serial transmission is made with 9600 Baud and is enabled by the software delivered standardly.

Gas tracing occurs with help of a reaction (oxidation resp. reduction) of the gases at catalytic operating electrodes, each being in special acid electrolytes. The sensor is flown with sampled gas which diffuses to the electrodes thru a porous teflon membrane which release electrical loads as a consequence of the reaction. The gas conversion at the measuring electrode depends on the potential of the latest compared to the electrolytes. A reference electrode in potentiostating switch stabilises the measuring cell. The measurable signal (mv resp. m V) at the sensor s output is proportional to the gas concentration. The sensors are protected as well against electrolyte leakage thanks to hydrophobic membranes, moisture inlet (not condensing) as well as against drying. The sensor is temperature monitored within the instrument and the output signal is mathematically compensated. The selectivity is achieved thanks to suitable electrode material and increased thru additional chemical filters and mathematical compensation process.
