1 ELYSATOR a powerful partner ELYSATOR your competent partner in water technology. This Swiss-based company has been developing and manufacturing building service systems, including water filters, for more than 40 years with the aim of being straightforward, suitable and sustainable.

2 Straightforward ELYSATOR is easy to use. We achieve our goal the most direct way with straightforward, clear, user-friendly appliances. Suitable ELYSATOR fits. Our solution meets all requirements. Sustainable If there are two ways of achieving a goal, we choose the sustainable one. Swiss-made water filters from ELYSATOR are used to clean technical water circuits, such as those found in heating and cooling systems, as well as in engine circuits on ships and in power stations. Around a third of our production output is exported to other European countries. As a market leader in its sector, the future holds no fears for ELYSATOR Engineering AG and a product range that's simply bursting with innovations. The company is based in Bilten in the Swiss Canton of Glarus. Here, the dedicated ELYSATOR team researches, develops, consults, optimises and manufactures not just keeping pace with developments, but forging ahead to set new standards in the water treatment sector with the aim of being straightforward, suitable and sustainable. 4 The company The demands made on water in technical circuits are subject to constant change but we engineer the water to make it fit for purpose. ELYSATOR engineering water ELYSATOR a Swiss pioneer in water technology Heinrich Rickenbach, born in Zurich in 1931, completed an apprenticeship to become a metalworker and mechanic. In 1950, straight after his training, he founded his first business specialising in the design and maintenance of technical water systems. He received engineering support from his brother, who had graduated as an electrical engineer from Winterthur University of Applied Science. It soon became apparent that electro-chemistry was to play a major role in the future of 'water engineering'. In many situations, electro-chemistry promised to be more economical and environmentally responsible than traditional water chemistry. Nevertheless, things were tough in the early days ecology had yet to become a valued selling point, and the brothers needed years of research and development to implement what were in some cases visionary ideas. The first breakthrough came in 1971 with the ELYSATOR product for heating systems. Oxygen diffusion through plastic pipes became the technical scourge of the first generation of underfloor heating systems. The electrochemical process triumphed where chemical inhibitors failed. And so the product gave its name to the company: ELYSATOR. 1970s Development of the ELYSATOR product. Founding of ELYSATOR AG in Zurich 1991 Subsidiary founded in Germany ELYSATOR recognised as 'state of the art' 4

5 As these underfloor heating systems aged and sludge accumulation reduced their heating output, ELYSATOR launched a flushing system in the 1990s, which boasted performance characteristics that are still unrivalled today. The heating water laboratory of ELYSATOR Engineering AG is recognised as market leader throughout Switzerland. Its data pool is unique and serves as the basis for in-house research and development our technical leadership is firmly based on know-how. The turn of the millennium saw the first collaborative efforts with leading boiler manufacturers with the aim of preventing boiler damage caused by scaling. When the technical associations amended their standards for water quality a short time ago, many products from ELYSATOR were already marketable and available to manufacturers, as well as sanitation, heating and air conditioning companies and end users. ELYSATOR Engineering AG is always looking ahead, with a product range simply bursting with innovations. We engineer water so that it is able to meet the increasing demands placed upon it as a technical fluid. Our customers can rely on us Spin-off of the largest Swiss water laboratory for the heating sector 2014 Development and patenting of the PUROTAP expert hyper filtration unit Development and registration of PUROTAP 2013 New head office in Bilten GL 2013 Development and patenting of SorbOx 5

6 Research & development Our R&D department is state of the art, and the innovations it develops are equally ground breaking. Swiss made The production at our head office provides optimum flexibility and Swiss quality. Custom-made products We are open to customer requirements, be it for specific labelling or technical modifications. ELYSATOR a powerful partner Product quality Multi-stage quality assurance is one of our traditions. Our products are internationally patented. Price/performance ratio Product innovations of Swiss quality with a fair price/performance ratio. 7 ELYSATOR your powerful partner in water technology The demands on the water used in a wide range of technical applications are more stringent than those imposed on drinking water. We keep developing water until it becomes suitable for the required technical application. Water is in a constant cycle. Driven upwards by the sun and wind, it condenses in the atmosphere and reaches the Earth again, in the form of rain or snow. It flows over all types of surfaces and soils, and seeps into rock layers, thereby enriching itself with minerals and gases over the course of centuries. Water is present practically everywhere on Earth, but no longer in surplus and rarely available in the required quality. Water must first be treated with appropriate technologies to make it suitable for human use. When it comes to a wide variety of technical applications, however, the demands on water are even more stringent than those imposed on drinking water. For example, it might need to be free of gases or minerals. Special processes are used to achieve this. We call it 'engineering water '. We keep developing water until it becomes suitable for the required technical application. Advanced systems are more economical, efficient and environmentally responsible, but they also make more stringent demands on heating water quality. They react quickly to corrosion and limescale, which impair their efficiency. Furthermore, low operating temperatures (above all in heat pumps) slow down the degassing of heating water, thereby prolonging the reaction time of the gases through corrosion. Cylinders raise the saline content in the system. Suitably treated water is essential for minimising costs and damage. Applicable standards emphasise the importance of the quality of fill and top-up water in heating systems. The production and logistics facilities at our Swiss head office give us great flexibility. Custom-made products, prototypes for product innovations and the physical proximity of development and production are essential for a manufacturing facility aligned with market trends. You can rely on us to be a powerful partner for all water technology issues. Engineering water is our element.
