3 THE USE OF REGENERATED WATER IS BANNED FOR: a) Human intake Except in cases of catastrophe. 7 GEOGRAPHIC DISTRIBUTION TOTAL: 836 Hm3 Objectives of the Program WATER REUSE PROGRAM Achieve the good state of all water bodies required in the Water Framework Directive /6/EC by the year 5. Discourage effluent disposal to achieve the target of zero discharge in coastal waters. Preserve water of high quality for human consumption and for environmental flows, mainly in inland areas. Implement viable funding programs -agile and dynamic- to promote reuse of water. Encourage new uses of regenerated water for agricultural, environmental, recreational, industrial and municipal uses Ensure the application of reuse good practices. Inform and raise awareness on the benefits of regenerated water reusing. 7
