3 ARAGONA DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS, Neighborhood developed in the mid 1950s Storm drain improvements to address severe roadway flooding Project limits include the area south of Haygood Road and west of Aragona Blvd. and part of Overman Avenue Estimated Total Project Cost: $3.76M 3

4 ARAGONA DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS SECOND QUARTER 2018 ACTIVITIES Design ongoing, approximately 90% complete Phased project to accommodate funding o Engineer s estimate exceeded funding o Removed part of Overman Ave from initial phase Scheduled to advertise for construction in October 2018 Construction is expected to take 15 months 4

5 CENTRAL RESORT DISTRICT DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS, Estimated Total Project Cost: $113M; BTC $112.2M Multi-phase project to address severe roadway flooding Ultimate improvements include additional storm drains, tide gate, pump station & ocean outfall Interim Projects: o Replace existing 42 pipe located under 24 th Street with box culvert or bridge; estimated cost ~ $6M o Redirect approx. 15 ac. from 21st St and Baltic Ave. to 16th St. Pump Station; estimated cost ~ $15M 5

8 CHUBB LAKE/ BRADFORD LAKE SECOND QUARTER 2018 ACTIVITIES Public Works continues coordinating with the Navy to open the weir gate when major rain events are forecasted Public Works/Operations received permit to remove sediment from ditch between Nider Boulevard and Boone Clinic culvert o Dredging should begin in the next 60 days Navy provided ditch and culvert crossing information to Public Works Early Implementation Projects Underway o 780 feet of ditch from the north side of Shore Drive north to Lake Bradford o 1,150 feet of ditch from Pleasure House Road (north of Shore Drive) west to Lake Bradford 8

11 EASTERN SHORE DRIVE DRAINAGE PHASE I SECOND QUARTER 2018 ACTIVITIES Cape Henry Canal Drainage Improvements design ongoing o Box culvert from Ebb Tide Road to West Great Neck Road o Side Street Outfall Improvements to Starfish Rd, Ebb Tide Road & Red Tide Rd o Advertise for construction September 2018 o Estimated Project Cost $3M o Provides an improved drainage outfall for the Shore Drive Corridor Improvements Phase III project (CIP 2-117) Parcel at Page Avenue for future pump station is being acquired as part of the Shore Drive Corridor Improvements Phase III Roadway project o Appraisals are underway 11

12 SHERWOOD LAKES DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS, Project to address severe roadway and property flooding Improvements include a pump station with a pipe connection between 2 lakes Temporary Pumping in advance of rain event Estimated Total Project Cost: $3M 12

13 SHERWOOD LAKES DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS SECOND QUARTER 2018 ACTIVITIES Ongoing Lakes pumped down to elevation 3.0 in advance of forecasted significant rainfall Design for pump station vault, lake intake pipe, outfall pipe, permanent pump station and interconnect pipe is complete June 24, 2018 Interconnect Pipe project advertised for construction Value Engineering underway for the Pump Station design 13

14 SOUTHERN CANAL/LEAD DITCH & CULVERT IMPROVEMENTS, $1.39M/Year Allocated Drainage improvements to canals, lead ditches and culverts in the southern watershed Improvements may include pipe/culvert replacement, ditch/channel clearing Construction is timed to avoid inconvenience to the agricultural community and residents 14

17 SWM MASTER PLANNING, ANALYSIS, AND MODELING, Total Project Cost: $13.7M Updating the City s 31 Stormwater Watershed Models Includes Preliminary Drainage Analysis to identify future Capital Drainage Projects Models will allow Stormwater Engineering Center to provide drainage design parameters such as downstream tailwaters to developers for projects Models will be kept up to date and reside in the Stormwater Engineering Center 17
