2 Medical Conditions Aggravated by Exposure Potential Environmental Effect No specific medical conditions are known which may be aggravated by exposure to this product. Any disease, medication or prior exposure which reduces normal cholinesterase activity may increase susceptibility to the toxic effects of the active ingredient. Highly toxic to birds. FIRST AID MEASURES General Eye Skin Ingestion Inhalation Notes to physician Signs and Symptoms When possible, have the product container or label with you when calling a poison control center or doctor or going for treatment. Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eye. Call a physician or poison control center immediately. Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. DO NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so by a physician or poison control center. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Do not leave victim unattended. Move to fresh air. If person is not breathing, call 911 or an ambulance, then give artificial respiration, preferably mouth-to-mouth if possible. Call a physician or poison control center immediately. Symptoms may be delayed. 3 wheezing Hazards Treatment This product is a cholinesterase inhibiting organophosphorous pesticide. Appropriate supportive and symptomatic treatment as indicated by the patient's condition is recommended. There is no specific antidote. SECTION 5. Firefighters should wear NIOSH approved self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing. SECTION 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Personal precautions Methods for cleaning up Avoid contact with spilled product or contaminated surfaces. Do not breathe vapour. Isolate hazard area. Keep unauthorized people away. Use personal protective equipment. Dike area to prevent runoff. Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Collect and transfer the product into a properly labelled and tightly closed container. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations. Contaminated soil may have to be removed and disposed. Decontaminate tools and equipment following cleanup. Additional advice Do not allow to enter soil, waterways or waste water canal. 4 SECTION 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Handling procedures Handle and open container in a manner as to prevent spillage. For personal protection see section 8. Use only in area provided with appropriate exhaust ventilation. Maintain exposure levels below the exposure limit through the use of general and local exhaust ventilation. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Storing Procedures Store in a cool, dry place and in such a manner as to prevent cross contamination with other crop protection products, fertilizers, food, and feed. Store in original container and out of the reach of children, preferably in a locked storage area. Hazardous gaseous decomposition products can be formed during storage. Evaluate for pressure increases after two years of storage. If pressure in the container has increased, call our Product Information Number (see Section 1) for further handling advice. Do not store at temperatures below -10 C. Work/Hygienic Procedures Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco, using the toilet or applying cosmetics. Remove soiled clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before using again. Wash thoroughly and put on clean clothing. Min/Max Storage Temperatures Recommended minimum transport/storage temperature: -10 C / 14 F SECTION 8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION General Protection Follow all label instructions. Train employees in safe use of the product. Follow manufacturer's instructions for cleaning/maintaining PPE. If no such instructions for washables, use detergent and warm/tepid water. 6 Chemical Stability Stable under recommended storage conditions. SECTION 11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION Only acute toxicity studies have been performed on this product as formulated. The non-acute information pertains to the technical-grade active ingredient, methamidophos. Skin irritation Eye irritation Sensitisation Chronic toxicity rabbit: slight irritation rabbit: No eye irritation, however, this product is highly toxic and can be absorbed through the mucous membranes of the eye. guinea pig: Non-sensitizing. Methamidophos caused clinical signs of toxicity including cholinesterase inhibition in chronic feeding studies in rats and dogs. Assessment Carcinogenicity Methamidophos was not carcinogenic in lifetime feeding studies in rats and mice. ACGIH NTP Page 6 of 9

7 IARC OSHA Reproductive toxicity REPRODUCTION: Methamidophos caused toxicity in offspring at doses producing systemic toxicity in adult rats. DEVELOPMENTAL TOXICITY: Methamidophos was not a primary developmental toxicant in rats and rabbits. Developmental effects were observed but were considered secondary to maternal toxicity. Assessment neurotoxicity Mutagenicity Methamidophos caused neurobehavioral effects related to cholinergic toxicity in acute, subchronic and developmental neurotoxicity studies in rats. No neuropathological changes were observed in these studies. Methamidophos was not mutagenic or genotoxic in a battery of in vitro and in vivo tests. SECTION 12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION Environmental precautions Do not allow to get into surface water, drains and ground water. Do not contaminate surface or ground water by cleaning equipment or disposal of wastes, including equipment wash water. Retain and dispose of contaminated wash water. Do not apply this product or allow it to drift to blooming crops or weeds if bees are visiting the treatment area. SECTION 13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS General Disposal Guidance Container Disposal Do not contaminate water, food, or feed by disposal. Dispose in accordance with all local, state/provincial and federal regulations. Improper disposal of excess pesticide, spray mixture, or rinsate is a violation of Federal Law. Follow container label instructions for disposal of wastes generated during use in compliance with the product label. Triple rinse containers. Do not re-use empty containers.
