The ecogrease int ercept or is designed according to the newly adopted European Standard pr-en1825. ecogrease separat es liquid, coagulating animal and veget able fat and grease from water prior to discharge in septic or municipally owned sewer application. Solid particles with a specific gravity > 1.0 are collect ed in the lower compartment.

3 Physical Principles of Grease/Water. Wast e-water from institutional kitchens, restaurants, food processing facilities,..., is contaminated with fat or grease of organic origin. Generally t he w ast e w at er has an average t emperat ure of above 30 C. All organic fat and grease components are liquid when entering the separator.

For t he first t ime a grease separation technology will allow the consultant, plumber or end user to not only size t he syst em st rict ly by flow-rate, but also achieve specific effluent removal efficiencies for these pollutants (< 25 ppm mandatory according to pr-en 1825.

15 Installation. ecogrease is easy t o inst all. A 2l/s (32 gpm) ecogrease unit only weighs 44kg (97 pounds) and can be carried into a basement by t w o people.

16 Maintenance. ecogrease is easy t o maint ain. An integrat ed sight glass enables the owner to accurately monitor the thickness of accumulated grease and to det ermine t he appropriat e t ime for maintenance. The sight glass is equipped with a wiper to clean the window.

17 Maintenance. ecogrease is easy t o maint ain. To cleanly and easily remediat e collected pollutants, the ecogrease syst em can be equipped with a flanged suction pipe. This st ainless st eel pipe is t hen connected to a suction line that ext ends t o grade. Vacuum trucks then simply attach and pump at grade.

18 Performance. The ecogrease is t est ed in accordance with the European Standards (pr-1825) for the separation of grease from w at er (< 25ppm separation rat ios).
