Planning, Construction, Service PlanET Biogastechnik GmbH ranks among the leading biogas plant builders in Germany and Europe. The Münsterland high-tech company s service portfolio covers all fields of biogas technology, from design, planning and plant construction all the way to technical service and biological support by an own laboratory for own and external built plants. Over 200 employees currently work at the company s headquarter in Vreden alone. Additional employees work at the national and international subsidiaries and service centres in Germany, UK, Italy, France and Canada. In addition there is a network of national and international sales and service partners. Always Close to the Customer For years, PlanET has stood for dependable cutting-edge technology in the biogas industry. As a pioneer in the field, the company has made it a goal to continuously advance the development of all of its plants and components in order to provide its many customers with economic and energy-efficient solutions. At PlanET, research and development always go hand in hand with the customer. The customer knows best what needs and requirements have to be taken into consideration. These results in practice-oriented, intelligent concepts which live up to the highest possible standards, and the modular concepts allow easy adaption to changing conditions. Relying on this technology, plant expansions (RePowering) all over the world become common practice.

We are there for You around the World The PlanET group also designs, builds and supports international projects. A strong international team and dependable partners are available in the countries where PlanET is active to make this possible. With its own subsidiaries in Germany, Uk, Italy, France and Canada, PlanET has established a successfull network reaching far beyond national borders. In countries where it has no subsidiaries of its own, PlanET works exclusively with experienced and reliable corporation partners. Many years of experience in foreign countries, continuous monitoring and innovative technologies enable PlanET to guarantee maximum quality, nationally as well as abroad.

Plant Types There are generally two distinct types of biogas plants: Agricultural and Industrial. The type of plant generally depends on the input material. The modular PlanET technology also allows a combination of the two types, either right from the start of the project, or as retrofit when additional input materials might become available. In addition to reliable technology, it is also essential to have a process which has been developed to suite the raw materials both of which are particular strengths of PlanET Biogastechnik, who offer plants with the highest availability rates and degrees of efficiency worldwide. In order to tap the potential of biogas in a cost-effective manner, PlanET continuously improves its plant technology and researches the complex biochemical interactions in the fermentation process. This is done in its own laboratory in lab scale trials and with the especially developed PlanET Mini Digester. SYSTEMBIOGAS - clever, modular & efficient Those who decide to build a biogas plant are making a long-term investment and will have to be able to easily adapt to new general conditions. This is why the new generation of PlanET Systembiogas plants offer maximum flexibility, thanks to their innovative modular construction. All components, many of them containerised for easy and quick installation, are equipped with connectionready interfaces, meaning that expansions of the plant or changes in substrates can be realised easily and cost-effectively at any time. The product range includes farm-scale biogas plants for energy crops and animal waste as well as waste to energy projects for industrial organic waste. Systembiogas also allows the later adaptation from a purely agricultural biogas plant to a cofermentation plant by adding the relevant components. The biogas feed into the natural gas grid can also be implemented by PlanET engineers. The electrical capacity of the already constructed biogas plants ranges from few kilowatts to several megawatts. PlanET Biogastechnik has already succesfully built over 300 plants in Germany and other European countries, in North America and Asia.

Agricultural Biogas Plants Biogas plants for the digestion of energy crops as well as slurry and manure have proven themselves in many projects. Those farmers operating a PlanET farm-scale biogas plant free themselves from the burden of rising energy costs by using slurry and manure as a costfree fuel and make additional profits from the sale of electricity and heat. PlanET farm-scale biogas plants are tailor-made to precisely meet the needs of the individual agricultural operations. Excellent service and PlanET employees specialised agricultural knowledge ensure optimised plant operation. PlanET s innovative slurry management system makes it easy to transport the liquid input materials to the digester, and once the fermentations process is complete, to the digestate storage. Waste-to-Energy Plants PlanET cofermentation plants transform waste to energy. Organic waste materials such as food waste, slaughterhouse waste and residues from the food industry can be used as predominant input materials. Valuable synergy effects are also created for bioethanol and biodiesel production. Residual material such as glycerin or mash can easily be used in a PlanET cofermentation plant. When the quality and quantity of the input material are consistent, the energy yield is often quite high. The construction of a cofermentation plant is thus a worthwhile alternative for many industrial operations. Waste management and disposal costs drop, the heat generated can be used in your own production facilities, and you can collect fees at a fixed rate by feeding the electricity into the public grid. PlanET Biogastechnik has already built numerous cofermentation plants around the world. PlanET s laboratory team will be glad to advise you on possible input materials and potential biogas yields.

Biomethane Plants Today, biogas is in most cases used directly on site where it is produced in a combined heat and power unit to generate electrical and thermal energy. However, biogas can also be refined to natural gas quality and fed directly into the natural gas grid. This way, refined gas can be transported flexibly and economically to where it can be utilised. The gas can be used to generate electricity and heat with particular efficiency, or it can be used as fuel. PlanET Biogastechnik has access to all of the leading technologies of biogas refinement over a pan-european technology network. Dry Feeding Technology PlanET sets the standards in the biogas industry in the field of solid matter charging systems. The in-house R&D department is constantly researching innovative methods to enhance the feeding of various solid materials into the biogas plants. A wide range of patented products in various sizes are being successfully used today and ensure reliable feeding of different materials. All feeding systems allow weight-proportional charging for an optimised process. Thanks to the systems modular construction, the right technology is on hand for any type of digester and any input material. Of great importance to us are exceptionally low energy consumption and an especially long service life and the reliability of all components.

Biogas Micro-Grids Transporting the heat can be complicated if the heat consumers are located too far away from the biogas plant. In such cases, the CHP unit can also be installed at the place where the heat is needed. By simply installing a dedicated raw biogas pipeline the generated gas can be transported to the actual site, where it will be used. PlanET Mini Digester The fully-functional PlanET Mini Digester can be used to test a wide variety of materials to determine their fermentation characteristics and gas yields. The PlanET Mini Digester also makes it possible to test various substrate combinations under real fermentation conditions. The benefits: Design parameters can be determined and the plant technology can already be adjusted to the input materials before starting to build a large-scale biogas plant.
