2 SLS 10 ULTRA PLUS Purpose : Energy savings, air humidity control. SLS 10 ULTRA PLUS reduces greenhouse heat loss. The light transmitting construction allows the screen to be used during the day and at night. SLS 10 ULTRA PLUS is very flexible and folds easily. This structure allows the screens to fold into a very small bundle, maximizing light transmission when the screen is in the open position. SLS 10 ULTRA PLUS is a series of parallel 4 mm synthetic strips knitted together with very thin and clear polyester The knitted structure is designed to allow water vapour transmission preventing excessive humidity beneath the screen. The properties of the synthetic strips prevent condensation on the screen allowing it to remain clean and algae free for many years. SLS ULTRA PLUS completely diffuses incoming sunlight. Diffusing direct sunlight protects the upper foliage from scorching while allowing the lower canopy to receive more light from more while allowing the lower canopy to receive more light from more angles. The result is sun protection without light loss. Special aluminium and polyester give XLS its superior reflection and transmission efficiency. This guarantees a low daytime temperature as well as very high energy savings, and keeps the crop temperature close to the ambient tempurature during the night. The result is better climate in the greenhouse with minimum rist for dw formation on the leaves, greenhouse with minimum risk for dew formation on the leaves, reducing disease problems and lowering the energy costs. The knitted structure allows sufficient water vapour to pass through, preventing condensation drops to form on the underside of the screen. The flexible structure also allows the screen to be folded into a very small bundle in an open position, making a maximum light transmission possible. 3 XLS F Purpose : solar reflection XLS F screens consist of 4 mm aluminium strips with open spaces in between, everything held together with a strong polyester filament yarn. Special aluminium and polyester gives XLS F its superior reflection and transmission efficiency. The open spaces allow for sufficient airflow, resulting in a considerable reduction of the air temperature. Even with high outside temperatures, the screen ensures an optimal growing and working climate. XLS F screens have a flexible structure. In an open position, they easily fold into a very small bundle, allowing for maximum light transmission. Due to the open structure, XLS F offers only limited energy savings. Closing the screen at night, however, will lead to considerable decreases in radiation loss from the crops; plant temperature will stay higher. The risk of condensation on the crop is therefore minimal, thus the risk of any fungus diseases as well. Often an XLS F screen is combined with a second, closed screen such as SLS 10 ULTRA PLUS or XLS 10. This combines both maximum potential cooling in the summer with maximum potential heat retention and energy savings during the winter. During the winter both screens are closed for maximum heat retention. As XLS F is a highly UV-stabilized product with excellent antistatic properties the screen will stay clean and efficient for many years. Test reports by institutions from various countries regarding the fire retardant properties are available. XLS 17 REVOLUX is also available in the different colors; Blue, Orange, Green, Yellow and White XLS REVOLUX is made of 4mm wide aluminium and plastic strips held together with a strong yarn. Special aluminium and transparent plastic strips give XLS REVOLUX its superior reflection and transmission efficiency. 6 ILS ULTRA Purpose : Energy savings, solar reflection. ILS rolling screens are specially designed for use in rolling screen applications, for greenhouse roofs, outer walls and dividing walls. The strengthened structure ensures a smooth rolling up and down of the screen, even with frequent use. ILS screens are made of aluminium and diffuse transparent strips. In a closed position the screen retains the radiant and convective heat. This results directly into energy savings. The ILS screens also reflect the required amount of the sun's radiation, protecting the crop from fierce radiation and stressful temperatures. Both of these properties result in a more comfortable working climate. Due to the knitted structure of the fine 5 mm strips, combined with special HDPE yarns, the ILS screens allow sufficient water vapour to pass through. This prevents any excess in humidity levels and prevents any condensation from forming on the underside of the screen. The screen will remain algae free and clean for many years, ensuring longevity of the screen and a dry healthy crop. For dividing walls within the greenhouse, ILS CLEAR is available. An advantage of this type of material is that one can see through it, unlike other ILS types. 7 ILS HORTIROLL Purpose : blackout, energy saving, light reflection. ILS Hortiroll A/W/G ILS Hortiroll W/W ILS HORTIROLL is a rolling screen, specially designed to blackout the sidewall of a greenhouse. It is also used as a dividing wall between greenhouse sections. One can make a blackout installation complete, by combining the ILS HORTIROLL rolling screen with a horizontal Svensson XLS OBSCURA screen. There are two versions of the ILS HORTIROLL: ILS HORTIROLL A/W/G is used for sidewalls. It has an aluminium outer surface and a white inner surface. A green monofilament yarn gives the outside surface a more natural and decorative effect. ILS HORTIROLL W/W is used for dividing walls. This rolling screen is white on both sides. ILS HORTIROLL is also the right choice when you are obliged to maintain artificial light within the greenhouse. The white surface reflects light back diffused onto the crop, ensuring uniform crop development. ILS REVOLUX rolling screens are specially designed for use in roller screen applications, for greenhouse roofs, outer and dividing walls. The strengthened knit structure ensures a smooth rolling up and down of the screen, even after frequent use. ILS REVOLUX rolling screens are meant for situations where fire security is of great importance, for example in public areas like retail nurseries. ILS REVOLUX screens are made of aluminium and transparent synthetic strips. In a closed position the screen retains the radiant and convective heat. This results directly into energy savings. The ILS REVOLUX screens also reflect the required amount of the sun's radiation, protecting the crop from fierce radiation and stressful temperatures. Both of these properties result in a more comfortable working climate for the crop, public and personnel. In order to achieve a decorative effect, ILS REVOLUX uses a green monofilament. 8 LS SOLARWOVEN Purpose : protection against sun radiation, frost, hail, downpour and wind. LS SOLARWOVEN is a polyethylene reinforced plastic. Due to its very high tensile strength and tear-resistance, it has a longer lifetime than most other greenhouse plastics. LS SOLARWOVEN obtains its strength due to the construction of three layers: - A weave of transparent polyethylene tapes as the intermediate layer. - A top layer of polyethylene coating, which is UV-radiation absorbing. - A bottomlayer of polyethylene coating, which makes condensation drops turn into a water film. LS SOLARWOVEN allows only 10% of UV-radiation to pass through. More than 60% of long wave heat radiation (IR) is absorbed, giving LS SOLARWOVEN excellent insulation properties. The LS SOLARWOVEN does not stretch, which makes it an ideal material for roll up sidewalls and rolling covers for greenhouses. 9 XLS OBSCURA B/W and XLS OBSCURA 19 W/W Purpose : retaining assimilation light, energy saving The XLS OBSCURA B/W and XLS OBSCURA 19 W/W are screens specially designed for production facilities using artificial lightning. The light transmission of these these two screens are < 1% and 10% respectively. This reduces the light escaping escaping to the outside environment, which might otherwise disturb neighbours. A white underside provides reflection rates of 60%, increasing the amount of light available to the crop by 3% to 5%. The XLS OBSCURA B/W and 19 W/W retain only about 40% of the heat, which is lower than for the aluminium screens. Therefore they can be used without undesired accumulation of heat taking place, even when outside temperatures are relatively high. The screens also prevent increases in humidity levels by allowing the right amount of water vapour to pass through. The result is that the air humidity hardly increases. For all sensitive crops needing day length control, like chrysanthemum, kalanchoe or euphorbia, the blackout effect is more than sufficient, with light transmission <0.1% Sunlight is reflected by the aluminium upper surface. Therefore when the weather is sunny, undesired heat accumulation is excluded during blackout periods. Even with two layers of material, the folded bundle is very small in the opened position. This permits a maximum amount of light to reach the crops. XLS OBSCURA screens allow for sufficient water vapour permeation. Closing the screen therefore leads to a minimal rise of the air humidity and condensation drops do not form on the underside of the screen. There are two types of XLS OBSCURA screens available: - XLS OBSCURA A/B + B/B: The lower layer is black - XLS OBSCURA A/B + B/W: The lower layer is black on the top and white on the lower side. This white surface allows for 60% light reflection, therefore in combination with artificial light, a 3 to 5% increase in the amount of light may be achieved. 10 OLS ABRI Purpose : protection against sun radiation, frost, hail, downpour and wind. OLS ABRI external screens are suitable to protect outdoor crops against certain adverse weather conditions such as strong sunshine, night frost, hail, downpour and wind. The strong monofilament yarns used guarantee a long useful life, even under severe weather conditions. The screen is reinforced in such a way that one can hang it onto polyester or steel wires with special synthetic suspension hooks. In this way the screen can be completely opened and closed so that it is possible to react adequately to changing weather conditions. OLS ABRI screens consist of aluminium strips with open spaces in between these strips. The strips that reflect unwanted sun radiation and the open structure allow for sufficient airflow. The overall result of this is a considerable reduction of daytime crop temperature. As the aluminium strips reduce heat radiation from escaping the greenhouse, OLS ABRI screens decrease the heat loss from the crop during night-time. As the plant temperature will stay higher, the night frost damage will be limited to a minimum. Standard width : 3.60 / 4.10 / 4.60m. (each 40 cm a wire) OLS 35 ABRI 69% 61% OLS 50 ABRI 49% 48% 20% % OLS Purpose : solar reflection, heat retention, hail and downpour protection. OLS screens are intended for outside use above glass and plastic houses as a rolling screen. The strong monofilament yarn used guarantee a long useful life, even under severe weather conditions. OLS screens consist of aluminium strips with open spaces in between these strips. The strips reflect unwanted sun radiation and the open structure allow for sufficient airflow. The overall result of this is a considerable reduction of daytime crop temperature. As the aluminium strips reduce heat radiation from the greenhouse, OLS screens decrease the heat loss from the crop during night-time. As the plant temperature will stay higher the night frost damage will be limited to a minimum. Other applications include: - As a rolling screen inside of a house, placed below any open vents in combination with a ILS rolling screen. The open structure allows air to freely pass through. - As a fixed screen in shade houses and tunnels. - As a rolling screen outside a plastic tunnel. 11 QLS ABRI Purpose : protection of outdoor crops against rain and low temperatures. QLS ABRI is a transparent, waterproof external screen to be used to protect outdoor crops against rain and low temperatures. The screen is reinforced in such a way that one can hang it onto stainless steelwires with special synthetic LS ABRI HOOKS; in this way it can be completely opened and closed. When closed, QLS ABRI protects the crop against adverse weather conditions and when opened, the crop is dominated by the natural climate. QLS ABRI is the ideal solution for: - Tree cultivation and cultivation of bedding plants; these crops normally get a better quality when they are exposed to outdoor conditions and only need to be be protected against adverse weather conditions. - Various crops in warm areas; when there are high outside temperatures, the greenhouse effect is eliminated by opening the QLS ABRI.
