6 TVET Component - Objective and Success Factors The basis for technical and vocational education and training in the area of Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) is established in line with the demands of the sector. Success Factors Development of quality-assured education and training courses in line with the demand of the Brazilian RE and EE sector Appropriate balance of practice and theory (approx. 60:40) trainings involving companies Inclusion of international and German experiences Pag. 6

7 TVET Component - Stakeholders ABINEE, ABSOLAR: Identification of skills & training demand Ministry of Education (MEC): Creation of a National Committee on Vocational Training for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. National Industrial Training Service (SENAI): Development and publication of a national curriculum with training standards for PV implementation of pilot courses has started in several regions Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology: preparation of training courses to meet the demand of the PV sector Centro Paula Souza (SP): Preparation of TVET courses for PV Installers German Cooperation for Sustainable Development: Support to the Brazilian partners based on German and International experiences Pag. 7

Partnerships between companies and educational institutions The implementation of new courses in the area of photovoltaics offers cooperation opportunities for German and international companies (e.g. Public Private Partnership) Companies can contribute with: Provision or financing of equipment for training centers (e.g. PV components like inverter, modules, teaching materials) Support Train-the-Trainer Programs (by providing teaching or exhibition materials, technical lectures or specific training) Pag. 10
