10 7. General Operating Information 1 Note! In the event of program disturbances please remove batteries! This causes the instrument to return to its initial settings (Reset Function). Attention! In case of repetitive malfunction, replace batteries or connect the instrumentspecific power supply (refer to Technical Data ). Protection of measuring cell In case of overload (-Values exceeding 9999 ppm) the display will alternate between the actual value measured and a warning message " HIGH". Simultaneously, the pump will be switched off! The gas probe must be removed from the flue gas tube immediately! After an initially slow reduction, the concentration at the sensor will fall continuously. The purging of the instrument pump will not start until the excessive gas concentration has fallen below a value of less than 9999 ppm (this is supported by the self-purging function of the instrument). If the display value reaches < 20 ppm, the instrument should be switched OFF and ON again. This initiates a new calibration phase.. Preparing the analyzer for a measurement Sensor connections: Connect the tubings to and from the sensor by means of quick-changes connectors. Connect the temperature plug to the inlet sockets. The connections are colour-coded to prevent any confusion: Yellow = Gas-Temperatur Blue = Air temperature 1 Note! Keep the probe out of the flue during the 60 second calibration phase! 5

11 8. 16 11. System Maintenance & Instrument Care Condensate Trap/Filter: see drawing page 28! 1 Important! Condensate trap or container: Empty completely after each operation. Water in the instrument may have strong or even destructive effects on the pumps and sensors; Damaged or improperly inserted filters will lead to a failure of the filtering function and thus, to a failure of expensive pumps and sensors. Infiltecmicrofilter: Check for contamination and replace if required. NOTE! The microfilter acts as a filter for soot, smoke and dust particles and absorbs water vapor from the condensate contained in the waste gas! In case of strong contamination and/or saturation caused by condensate, the filter must be replaced immediately! After drying and in a clean condition, the filter can be re-used repetitively. Membrane filter (filter disc): Replace in case of decreasing pump flow. Threaded parts must be properly inserted (engaged) and tightened moderately. Proper sealing is ensured by O-rings. U= Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. Please use proper collection points for disposal. Use specified batteries cells only! Do not mix different types of batteries or new and used cells. Do not charge non- rechargeable batteries. Do not short the terminals!. Keep the instrument dry. 11
