See section 11 for more detailed information on health effects and symptoms. 4. First aid measures First aid measures Ingestion Skin Contact Eye contact If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Obtain medical attention. Do NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical attention if symptoms appear. In case of contact, immediately flush skin with plenty of water. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse. Clean shoes thoroughly before reuse. Obtain medical attention. In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with a copious amount of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation occurs. Version Version 1 Page 1/6

2 Notes to physician Specific treatments This safety data sheet is prepared in accordance with EU See section 11 for more detailed information on health effects and symptoms. 5. Firefighting measures Extinguishing media Special exposure hazards Hazardous thermal decomposition products In case of fire, use water spray (fog), foam, dry chemical or CO2 extinguisher or spray. Combustible liquid and vapour. Vapour may cause flash fire. Vapours may accumulate in low or confined areas, travel a considerable distance to a source of ignition and flash back. Runoff to sewer may create fire or explosion hazard. These products are carbon oxides (CO, CO2) Special protective equipment for firefighters Fire fighters should wear appropriate protective equipment and selfcontained breathing apparatus (SCBA) with a full facepiece operated in positive pressure mode. 6. Accidental release measures Personal Precautions Immediately contact emergency personnel. Keep unnecessary personnel away. Use suitable protective equipment (Section 8). Environmental precautions Avoid dispersal of spilled material and runoff and contact with soil, waterways, drains and sewers. Methods for cleaning up If emergency personnel are unavailable, contain spilled material. For small spills add absorbent (soil may be used in the absence of other suitable materials) scoop up material and place in a sealed, liquidproof container for disposal. For large spills dike spilled material or otherwise contain material to ensure runoff does not reach a waterway. Place spilled material in an appropriate container for disposal. Note see section 8 for personal protective equipment and section 13 for waste disposal. 7. Handling Storage Handling and storage Packaging materials Recommended Specific uses Wash thoroughly after handling. Keep container tightly closed. Keep container in a cool, wellventilated area. Use original container. 8. Exposure controls/personal protection United Kingdom (UK) Respiratory protection Occupational exposure limits Ethanol EH40WEL (United Kingdom (UK), 1/2005). TWA 1920 mg/m 3 8 hour(s). Form All forms TWA 1000 ppm 8 hour(s). Form All forms Exposure controls Occupational exposure controls Provide exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep the airborne concentrations of vapours below their respective occupational exposure limits. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location. A respirator is not needed under normal and intended conditions of product use. Version Version 1 Page 2/6
