2 Our Mission The Thames River Basin Partnership is a voluntary, cooperative effort to share organizational resources and to develop a regional approach to natural resource protection. The partnership grew out of locally led workshops held by the region's Soil and Water Conservation Districts. Protect the region's agricultural and natural areas being threatened by land use changes. Protect ground and surface water quantity and quality being threatened and degraded by contamination. Protect the region's biodiversity. Improve the coastal zone resource conditions.

3 Government and non-profit organizations, educational institutions, industries and municipalities with a shared focus on natural resource conservation in the greater Thames River watershed basin.

4 The TRBP Coordinator is an employee of the Eastern Connecticut Conservation District (ECCD). ECCD serves at the fiduciary agent for the organization. The Last Green Valley (TLGV) and ECCD have a cooperative agreement to fund a TRBP Coordinator for general quarterly meeting organization, assembling and distributing a quarterly newsletter comprised on Partner reports and overseeing planning of the annual Thames River Basin Partnership Floating Workshop. TLGV is funded in part by the National Park Service and Millennium Power, which help to support the TRBP Coordinator. In 2018, a special project including a membership drive and Plan of Work update is being funded by a mini grant by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut. In 2018, an updated website is under development, funded in part a Watershed Assistance Small Grants Program (WASGP) grant which is funded in part by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection through a United States Environmental Protection Agency Clean Water Act Section 319 Nonpoint Source Grant, and administered by Rivers Alliance of Connecticut. In 2018, Chelsea Groton Foundation is a supporting sponsor of the Floating Workshop. Office space for the TRBP Coordinator provided by the Connecticut Audubon Society Center at Pomfret Private donations also help to support TRBP programs.

5 The Thames River Basin Partnership is a coalition of organizations dedicated to the protection and improvement of the natural resources of the greater Thames River basin through donations of time, facilities and personnel of the agencies and entities involved.
