Safety is our Top Priority We re aiming for ZERO injuries and ZERO illnesses We focus on Designing and building to the highest safety standards Responding 24/7 to any incident or emergency Protecting our system by monitoring it regularly from the inside out and top to bottom Meeting all regulatory safety standards during construction, operation and maintenance 6

Monitoring and Maintaining our System 24/7 monitoring at two separate control centres in Fort St. John and Calgary either can control the entire system Equipped with automated leak detection alarms and shut down systems Monitor gas flow, pressure, temperature and operating status of all our facilities Routine aerial patrols to check for third-party activity or abnormal system conditions Routine road and foot patrols Regularly scheduled leak surveys in which a system operator walks the right-ofway with a hand-held gas detection instrument Spend ~$400 million/yr in Canada inspecting and maintaining existing facilities 7

Seismic Protection and Preparedness Modern natural gas systems are very resistant to seismic vibrations Our system crosses no known active faults We also design our systems to avoid areas of other hazards, (i.e. areas of potential land slides) that could result from an earthquake In the event of any seismic activity, we immediately confirm the safety of our system 8

Our Aboriginal Relations Values We recognize and respect the unique cultural and historical characteristics of Aboriginal people and their connections to the land and this understanding helps guide our actions 9

Local Presence on the Ground in BC Our Community and Aboriginal coordinators and land agents are on the ground in communities across BC They represent our values and our sustainability goals They listen to community interests and take action As we grow, we are hiring locally to help make sure we build on our track record 10

Why Build a new Natural Gas System? New Natural Gas Supply British Columbia has enough gas to meet our own needs, and to export natural gas to new places looking for clean-burning energy Jobs Moving natural gas to new places protects existing jobs in British Columbia, and will create new jobs for more people in more places Opportunities for Growth We want to take what we ve learned over the last 55-years working in B.C., add local and Aboriginal input, and build a sustainable natural gas sector in B.C. 12

Natural Gas System to Prince Rupert New system can build on our 55-year history Project Scope: Partnership with BG Group, a leading player in the global energy market ~ 850-kilometre pipeline from northeast BC to Prince Rupert Conceptual route developed based on preliminary assessments of environmental, historical, cultural and constructability factors ~ one year of stakeholder input collected/reflected in planning to date Ongoing consultation program a priority 13
