RED CARPET Regional Emergency Deployment of a Coastal Aerobic Relief Program: Effluent Treatment Who: The Advanced Aeration Group, LLC. (aka: TAAG) located in Angleton Texas. utilizing our unique vacuum bubble technology or VBT aerators. What: A Gulf Coast regional program to offer assistance to those in need of enhanced aerobic treatment for the remediation of waste from water and waste water. examples include residential septic systems, municipal waste treatment plants and especially waste water lagoons, with high concentrations organic waste ( high BOD) that may be flipped from anaerobic to aerobic in as little as 24 hours using quiescent aeration and our vacuum bubble microbubbles. Where: Our focus and priority is on those affected by Hurricane Harvey on the Gulf Coast especially those with emergency human health issues. our program will prioritize ( triage ) those situations having the most immediate human health needs ( i.e. BOD reduction of effluent discharged into open waterways) followed by economic impact (i.e. meeting discharge requirements and/or compliance issues) and finally solving nuisance problems ( i.e. odor reduction and/or elimination). When: Available immediately on a limited basis to those most in need. our application engineers can assist in specifying what may be needed and can arrange for the delivery of the ready-to-deploy palletized vacuum bubble technology or VBT aerators. The 3hp standard and 2hp explosion proof units can be shipped ready-to-run simply requiring a supply 230v/460v 3ph power connection. The 1hp single phase units are available for smaller installations and can be operated at 115v/230v. Why: On September 1, 2017 we released our new design combination that delivers aerobic Quiescent Aeration ; includes shaft stabilizing Run-True-Technology ; integrates an optional condition monitoring system capable of predictive maintenance all designed to extend the electric motor s service life and allow our unique Quiescent Aeration to reach its potential. Vacuum Bubble Technology aerators are simple to deploy, efficient to operate and easy to monitor. r4 USA: (281) CR#49 Angleton, TX 77515

"Quiescent Aeration" and our Vacuum Bubble Brand the technology unique to: The Advanced Aeration Group, LLC. (TAAG) What makes vacuum bubble technology ( VBT ) so extraordinary? In sewage treatment, aerobic systems can be much more effective and produce better effluent quality than anaerobic systems. Additionally, aerobic biofilms are known to form highly specialized waste treatment surfaces that expand both the efficacy and rate of reduction of organic wastes such as sewage. Biofilms grow on surfaces and/or substrate in the treatment tank which allows them to evolve over time and form a uniquely specialized bacterial matrix that greatly expands the performance of the system. With an enriched supply of dissolved oxygen, the treatment is optimized to produce extraordinary results. That is what our vacuum bubble technology can do. And here is how it is done VBT aerators uniquely, continuously and very efficiently establish a systemic delivery mechanism of.25mm micro bubbles created under a partial vacuum. These vacuum bubble micro bubbles shrink down to their point of pressure equilibrium at near zero buoyancy and don t immediately float to the surface as all other pressured bubbles do; consequently, they stay in the water for a very long period of time and reach all areas of the tank or container even areas that other bubbles would not. This extraordinary delivery system transports oxygen throughout the entire water column. It establishes a continuous reserve of potential oxygen transfer available on demand to aerobic bacteria. There is always another vacuum bubble micro bubble in reserve, floating up, down, and all around inside the containment. Why we are different Quiescence Aerobic bacterial cellular success is a function of three interdependent conditions; activity, opportunity and proximity. Both dissolved oxygen and soluble organic waste ( opportunity) have to be near enough to travel to and through a bacteria s cell wall ( proximity) for carbon food to be metabolized ( molecular activity). Aggressive and excessive mixing can inhibit molecular activity disrupting the natural organic enzymatic conversion of waste to soluble food. An enriched quiescent environment enhances both the enzymatic conversion as well as stimulates quiescent aerobic cells to become active and aggressive with exponential growth. 3 ( continued) How we are different Our vacuum bubble aerators move air and don t expend unnecessary energy moving water. VBT quiescently supports exponential growth of aerobic bacteria and routinely makes anaerobic, smelly septic tank systems odorless in less than 24 hours! Typically, old accumulated organic sludge in the septic tank becomes a secondary food source and is metabolically consumed and converted to carbon dioxide and water. Because the oxygen reaches everywhere in the tank, the otherwise anaerobic sludge layer becomes aerobic and allows for solids digestion. By delivering and sustaining this abundance of oxygen transfer potential a more comprehensive digestion of the solids and sludge occurs. In essence, VBT doesn t generate sludge; it eats it up. Continuing downstream, effluent laden with available dissolved oxygen discharged to drain fields continues to stimulate aerobic bacterial activity and actually remediates excess biomass over time and can restore porosity in plugged drain fields. Other aeration methods Other aeration pumps, venturi-type jet devices, turbines and blowers excessively and aggressively mix and disrupt biofilm formation and function. Submerged educator-type tubular aerators release aspirated air into the water under positive pressure. Many of their bubbles float up and accumulate at the surface actually blocking some of the natural surface aeration. Venturi-jet devices use their pressurized liquid to entrain, mix and pump other liquids. Quiescent biofilm production can become difficult if not impossible under these circumstances. Summary... The vacuum bubble technology delivered by TAAG s VBT aerators is extraordinary! It sustains a continuous supply system capable of delivering an over-abundance of dissolved oxygen potential; requiring less energy; continuously generating.25 mm zero buoyant vacuum bubbles micro bubbles; simultaneously facilitating a quiescent biofilm environment and exponential aerobic bacterial growth. Dramatic reduction of anaerobic odors and accumulated organic sludge are proof. Quiescent aeration is exclusively unique to vacuum bubble VBT! rev4c USA: (281) CR#49 Angleton, TX 77515

The Problem A winery that does custom crush work for 29 clients in Oregon was no longer able to discharge untreated wastewater to their local municipal treatment plant because of urban growth causing new industrial pretreatment limits. With influent BOD ranging from 4,000mg/L to 15,000 mg/l and a requirement to reduce BOD to 300 mg/l the facility had to have their wastewater hauled at a cost of around $180,000 per year. The Solution The winery sought solutions to treat wastewater on site to meet the industrial pretreatment limits. The right solution needed to meet the treatment goals of the system, fit in the small footprint available on site, and be affordable. After evaluating several options the winery was unable to find a cost effective solution to the problem until working with Advanced Aeration to come up with a cost effective design that fit in the available footprint. Advanced Aeration s vacuum bubble technology provides oxygen to the wastewater using a patented unique approach that minimizes capital and operating cost while providing a high level of treatment. The system design included seven tanks with vacuum bubble aerators with a gravity flow design through the tanks. Treatment is enhanced using media in the tanks. Operation The system was started in 2010 and has been meeting the treatment goals consistently since startup. After a couple of crush seasons, the owners were concerned about solids buildup in the tanks and had the system cleaned as a preventative measure. There was very little solids accumulation in the bottom of the tanks, which is typical of the vacuum bubble treatment systems. The system has now been in operation for over four years. During that time, it has consistently met the treatment goals with a minimum amount of operator input. Compared to hauling wastewater, the vacuum bubble treatment system has paid for itself many times over and allows the winery to keep the revenue previously spent on hauling wastewater.

During non-crush periods the system removes almost all BOD. When the system is loaded with higher flows and BOD during crush periods, the system still performs to expectations, removing over 85% of BOD. See below for system operational data. Conclusion Advanced Aeration s vacuum bubble technology was the right solution for the owners of this winery. With less than a one year payback for their pretreatment system, they successfully implemented a system that effectively treats their wastewater and reduces wastewater costs by over 90% Average BOD (mg/l) Influent Effluent 100% 90% 80% 70% BOD Removal Efficiency BOD Removal % 60% 50% 40% 30% 20% 10% 0% Feb-10 May-10 Aug-10 Dec-10 Mar-11 Jun-11 Oct-11 Jan-12 Apr-12 Jul-12

The Problem A winery in NAPA had a lagoon wastewater treatment system that accumulated biosolids on the bottom of the lagoon. As the solids layer grew, the treatment capacity for the lagoon was reduced until solids removal became necessary. Solids removal was time consuming, expensive, and interrupted the normal operation of the winery. The Solution The winery sought solutions to reduce the cost of their wastewater operations and deal with the problem of solids removal. The Advanced Aeration Group s vacuum bubble technology was selected for its ability to reduce the accumulated biosolids in the pond while also treating the wastewater. This solution was less expensive than removing solids and also reduced the overall energy requirement for treating the wastewater. Advanced Aeration s vacuum bubble technology provides oxygen to the wastewater using a patented unique approach that minimizes capital and operating cost while providing a high level of treatment. The system design included several vacuum bubble aerators in each of the treatment lagoons. Operation The system was started in 2012 and has been meeting the treatment goals consistently since startup. After a couple of crush seasons, solids accumulation in the ponds have reduced to a manageable level and the system continues to operate without the need to remove solids from the lagoon. The system has now been in operation for over three years. During that time, it has consistently met the treatment goals with a minimum amount of operator input. Compared to hauling wastewater, the vacuum bubble treatment system has paid for itself many times over and allows the winery to keep the revenue previously spent on hauling solids and no longer deals with operational issues affecting the winery due to the wastewater treatment system.

HOW IT WORKS Vacuum Bubble Technology uses a simple mechanical device to create vacuum micro bubbles. The bubbles are created under a partial vacuum and instead of increasing in size like other bubbles that are forced to the surface, the vacuum micro bubbles then collapse to an average dimension of 0.25 mm in diameter with near zero buoyancy. Instead relying on mixing to deliver low dissolved oxygen water to an aeration device, the Vacuum Bubble system creates bubbles that diffuse effectively delivering oxygen throughout the water column. With over 12 times the surface area of fine bubbles, the Vacuum Bubble Technology provides a very efficient, simple treatment system. BUBBLE SIZE Coarse Bubble 20mm Fine Bubble 3mm Vacuum Bubble.25mm APPLICATIONS INDUSTRIAL PRETREATMENT ODOR CONTROL ON-SITE AEROBIC TREATMENT PACKAGE PLANT SLUDGE BLANKET REDUCTION IN LAGOONS PROVEN TECHNOLOGY With over 500 installations over 10 years and several independent studies, Advanced Aeration s Vacuum Bubble Technology has proved to effectively reduce BOD and Solids to acceptable limits.

REDUCED COST OF OWNERSHIP Besides the very efficient aeration process, Vacuum Bubble systems have an inherent advantage over other aeration processes because they aerate the entire volume without mixing. This allows for solids to settle in the basin without the need for clarifiers or additional settling basins. Settled solids accumulate and undergo aerobic and anaerobic digestion which produces very little solids. Vacuum Bubble systems have proved to reduce organic solids accumulation in many applications such as CAFO operations and municipal aerated lagoon processes. Vacuum Bubble systems are simple and easily installed in tanks, lagoons, and ponds.
