TECHNICAL DATA Transport Biolav RTU DE-ICING TOILET CHEMICAL DESCRIPTION : Transport Biolav RTU is a new technology high performance, ready-to-use, 100% environmentally responsible de-icing toilet chemical for locomotives, transport vehicles and portable toilets. A blend of biodegradable antigel, disinfectant, cleaners and masking agents in one ready-to-use product. BENEFITS : 1. Environmentally Responsible a. Does not contain glycols or urea. b. Much lower Biological Oxygen Demand (B.O.D.) than glycol based blends. c. Biodegrades at ambient as well as at low temperature. d. Biodegrades to carbon dioxide and water. e. Does not require efficient treatment in case of spillage 2. Excellent Performance a. Excellent Anti-Icing Characteristics. b. Active at low temperature. Product has a freezing point of less than 60 o F. c. Almost 30% longer working life than propylene glycol based products. 3. Ready-To-Use Quality environmentally friendly ingredients in optimum specification quantities providing a ready-to-use activity/colour coded blend. 1 of 8 Tel.: / Fax: sentinel@sentinelcanada.com The information contained herein is to the best of our knowledge, true and exact, but all recommendations are made without guaranty because the conditions of their use is beyond the control of. 2 4. Disinfectant/antimicrobial properties Transport Biolav RTU contains a highly efficient, non-toxic disinfectant/ anti-microbial moiety exihibiting excellent antimicrobial activity, demonstrating a rapid speed of kill even in the presence of proteins and enzymes. At below 625 ppm, the disinfectant in Transport Biolav RTU exhibits minimum inhibitory concentrations against the following: - Gram positive bacteria - Gram negative bacteria - Sulphate reducing bacteria - Yeasts - Molds - Algae o Staphylococus curcus o Bacillus subtilis o Bacillus circus o Legionella pneumophila o Klebsiella aerogenes o Klebsiella pnaiusnide o Pseudomones aeroginosa o Pseudomonas fluoresens 5. Cost Effective a. Lower up-front cost. b. No effluent treatment or emergency response procedure in case of shop spillage. c. Lower septic disposal cost at turn around facilities and/or maintenance facilities. 2 of 8

As product gets diluted with use (spent), dispose of it in accordance to standard acceptable procedures and municipal requirements if applicable. ADDITIONAL SUPPORTING DATA A) Environmental Impact Tests with product showed it readily biodegrades at ambient as well as at low temperatures. The product also has very low Oxygen Demand (B.O.D.) when compared to glycol based de-icers. Toxicity tests rates the product to be relatively harmless to aquatic life, the most favorable classification used by the environmental community. The fluid contains neither ammonia nor nitrogen. Therefore, the product is considered much safer for the environment than either glycol or urea. 3 of 8

B) Biodegradability The Chemical Oxygen Demand (C.O.D.) of product is determined using EPA method 410.1: C.O.D. (TOD) = 0.3 gm O 2 /gm The Biological Oxygen Demand (B.O.D.) was determined using the EPA approved dilution method (Hach): o 2 O C = 0.30 gm O 2 /gm o 20 O C = 0.30 gm O 2 /gm o 20 O C = 0.14 gm O 2 /gm 4 of 8

C) Hazard Information o Hazardous Waste and Shipping Product is not a listed hazardous waste. Regulations define hazardous waste in two ways: A Listed hazardous Waste or A Characterictic Hazardous Waste. A waste may be considered hazardous if it exhibits anyone of four characteristics Corrosivity, Toxicity, Ignitability or Reactivity. A waste is corrosive if it has a ph less than 2.0 or greater than or equal to Product is NOT corrosive, toxic, ignitable or reactive, therefore, it is not a characteristically hazardous waste. o Hazardous Components Product contains NO hazarous components. o Container and Product Disposal Based on the information available, product is neither listed as hazardous waste nor does it exhibit any of the characteristics that would cause it to be classified as hazardous waste. Empty containers and unsuitable product may be disposed of in sanitary landfield or sanitary system with prior verification and municipality approval. 5 of 8

D) Equipment Considerations 6 of 8 When setting up equipment to transport, store and feed product, the following must be considered : PUMPS o Stainless steel is preferred, but not required. o Avoid brass and cast aluminum or cast iron. o Positive displacement pumps are preferred PIPES o Stainless or carbon steel, PVC, polyethylene and rubber are OK. o Avoid galvanized metal piping and fittings SEALS o Butyl rubber, ethylene propylene rubber (EPM, EPDM), isoprene, natural rubber preferred. o Nitrile (Buna-N), hypalan, neoprene rubber generally acceptable. o Avoid butadiene, fluorocarbon rubber, fluorosilicon, polyacrylate, polyurethane SBR rubber (Buna S), silicon rubber. TANKS o Shipping and storage in stainless steel, fiberglass or polyethylene containers is preferred. o Carbon and alloy steel tanks and containers may be used if clean and free of rust. o Avoid introducing air into the product during charging or evacuation process of product.
