Meetings are usually held on Tuesdays and Fridays during SET Members DO NOT have to attend every meeting. Help when you can! Sign up on Ms. Felter s door SERVICE HOURS are earned!

2 DON T FORGET TO USE THE RECYCLING BINS IN YOUR CLASSROOMS AND CAFETERIA!

3 More than 20 million Hershey's Kisses are wrapped each day, using 133 square miles of aluminum foil. Believe it not, ALL that foil is recyclable, but not many people realize it so most it goes in the trash. HELP GO GREEN!

4 To produce each week's Sunday newspaper, 500,000 trees must be cut down.

5 America recycled enough aluminum cans last year to stretch to the moon and back 8 times.

9 The portion of U.S. annual energy use created by the combustion of fossil fuels is 86%! Help change this by -turning off lights -use solar panels, wind turbines, and other environmentally friendly energy sources!

10 Green Fact Friday Everyday in the U.S. we produce enough trash to equal the weight of the empire state building! Please do your part to help North Carroll Go Green by recycling or composting at lunch today!

11 Green Fact Friday AVOID 10 MILES OF DRIVING EVERY WEEK WOULD ELIMINATE 500 POUNDS OF CARBON DIOXIDE EMISSIONS EACH YEAR.

12 Unplug cell phone chargers, TVs, DVD Players, Stereos, microwaves, and other electronics when your not using them because they continue to draw power. Green Fact Friday

16 Green Fact Friday! The Metrodome recycles more beverage containers than any other stadium in the country last year! Last year, it recycled 44.2 tons of bottles and cans! Want to Learn More, come to a Green Team Meeting! All you have to do is sign up outside Ms. Felter s Door!

19 Americans began reducing and recycling much earlier than you probably realize. The first American paper mill to produce paper from recycled materials was established in 1690 by the Rittenhouse family near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Less than 200 years later, the city of Baltimore initiated the first curbside recycling program in 1874.

20 GREEN FACT FRIDAY! At least 50 million acres of rainforest are lost every year, totaling an area the size of England, Wales and Scotland combined. Since the rainforest helps to clean our water please do your part to conserve it whenever you can!
