7 Compact and Rugged Pumps Easy Priming High Stability No More Fuel Bills Ideal windmill replacement In case of water pumping system, power generated by solar module is used for operating solar surface/submersible pump for lifting water from open well, water reservoir or tube well for irrigation and drinking purpose. The system requires a shadow-free- area for installation of the solar panels. SWPS comes in DC & AC configurations with surface & submersible options. SWPS is suitable for water pumping in remote location where grid access is limited as well as in places where cost of operating pumping systems is very high. A solar photovoltaic (SPV) water pumping system consists of a PV array, an AC surface mounted/ submersible/ floating motor pump set, Electronic Controller, interconnect cables and an On-Off switch. PV Array is mounted on a suitable structure with a provision of tracking. Electronics include Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT), VFD and Controls/ Protections. Storage batteries will not constitute a part of the SPV Water Pumping System. 9 Flat Plate Collectors (FPC) System Evacuated Tube Collectors (ETC) System Solar water heating (SWH) is the conversion of sunlight into renewable energy for water heating using a solar thermal collector. Solar water heating systems comprise various technologies that are used world wide increasingly. In a close-coupled SWH system the storage tank is horizontally mounted immediately above the solar collectors on the roof. No pumping required as the hot water naturally rises into the tank through thermosiphan flow. In a pump-circulated system the storage tank is ground or floor-mounted and is below the level of the collectors; a circulating pump moves water or heat transfer fluid between the tank and the collectors.

10 Flat Plate Collectors (FPC) based Solar Water Heaters the solar radiation is absorbed by Flat Plate Collectors which consist of an insulated outer metallic box covered on the top with glass sheet. Inside there are blackened metallic absorber (selectively coated) sheets with built in channels or riser tubes to carry water. The absorber absorbs the solar radiation and transfers the heat to the flowing water. Evacuated Tube Collectors (ETC) based Solar Water Heaters Evacuated Tube Collector is made of double layer borosilicate glass tubes evacuated for providing insulation. The outer wall of the inner tube is coated with selective absorbing material. This helps absorption of solar radiation and transfers the heat to the water which flows through the inner tube.
