4 MARKET DRIVERS KEY PRODUCT AREAS lighting LED lighting a complete range of high performance LED products covering both indoor and outdoor lighting designed for very high efficacy and the lowest possible energy consumption. Potential energy savings: up to 80% Save It Easy plug-in converters that allow replacement of old-style fluorescent lamps with energy-efficient equivalents (fluorescent and LEDs) in the existing light fittings. Potential energy savings: up to 65% lighting controls Intelligent lighting that not only optimises based on daylight harvesting and occupancy sensing but also self-learns to achieve constant light levels for the lifetime of the products with very low energy consumption. Additionally the lighting controls can report real time energy consumption to provide even greater levels of control. Potential electricity savings: up to 60% when combined with LED lighting upgrades: up to 90% boiler controls Dynamic Burner Management Unit intelligent boiler controls which are designed to cut gas costs and reduce the time that a boiler burns gas, without affecting the temperature of the building. Potential gas savings: up to 15% power optimisation Power Optimisation a device that fits between the electricity supply and distribution board, reducing voltage, improving power factor and smoothing harmonics to reduce electricity costs. Potential electricity savings: up to 15% combined heat and power (CHP) The worlds most advanced CHP system utilising Capstone microturbines utilises waste heat from electricity generation to provide heating and hot water. Potential savings: up to 25% (on heating and hot water system) Low-carbon has become part of the mainstream. Pressures such as the Carbon Reduction Commitment and the impending Climate Risk Assessment legislation are pushing carbon-cutting up the agenda for all types of organisations. Coupled with this is the Government-led demand for increased transparency of energy usage within its own departments and in UK boardrooms. Yet it is the simplest and most effective solutions for reducing an organisation s energy consumption that remain the most overlooked. Installing LED lighting with integrated lighting controls can give proven savings of up to 90%. Retrofit energy-efficient lighting installations can cut lighting energy costs in half. Making a boiler more intelligent through improved controls can enable it to function better while using less gas. These easy wins improve upon what is already in place, rather than starting from scratch. The vast majority of energy efficiency improvements can be made in buildings already built and so the priority must be on retrofit technologies that improve energy efficiency. A retrofit strategy enables you to build on the investment you have already made in a building s infrastructure by reducing the burden of capital investment. This is often the quickest way to unlock immediate, tangible energy savings. Experience in delivering large self-financing programmes Energys is currently involved in delivering a number of large and high profile energy efficiency programmes in both the public and private sectors. Our wealth of experience in obtaining government grants and support, our leading edge products, world-class partners, in-house funding for projects and dedicated delivery and maintenance teams makes us an easy choice for clients. Our golden rule is that every project we are involved with should have a positive net present value and where we finance projects they will be cash positive from day one.

5 PUBLIC SECTOR SOLUTIONS Pressure is mounting on public sector organisations to cut carbon and lead the way in environmental responsibility. The Government is also setting challenging energy-reduction targets and demanding greater transparency, ownership and competitiveness between its own departments in terms of energy consumption. With an impressive portfolio of public sector customers, Energys is uniquely placed to help them achieve the savings they need. NHS Trusts, schools and other public sector organisations have the chance to turn the carbon-cutting headache into a positive that can deliver quick financial savings. Although a local authority s over-arching energy policy may be decided by someone unconnected with an individual school or hospital, organisations often find that low-cost, quick, non-intrusive retrofit projects can be approved at a lower level. our experience NHS Many hospitals including Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Royal Surrey, Calderstones NHS Trust Police Forces Including Devon & Cornwall and Merseyside Councils Over 25 including Oxfordshire and Warwickshire Military Complete energy programme including lighting, lighting controls, boiler controls and CHP for over 80 of the UKs largest Navy, Army and Royal Air Force establishments Government offices A number of central government organisations Education Higher education and hundreds of schools PRIVATE SECTOR EXPERTISE Legislation like the Carbon Reduction Commitment, along with the pervasiveness of Corporate Social Responsibility, has made carbonreduction into a corporate mandate. Consumers are increasingly looking to do business with environmentally-responsible companies, elevating a green ethos into an important competitive advantage. The fact that improved energy efficiency goes hand-in-hand with lower site costs is also a rich reward for early adopters. On industrial sites or within large office spaces, even shaving a few percentage points off the electricity or gas bills means a substantially lower bottom line. our experience Retailers Including Debenhams, M&S, One Stop Hotels Over 50 hotels such as IHG group and The Doyle Collection Hotels Industry From bakeries to distribution warehouses including multi-site programmes for BT and Unilever Professional Services Including Eversheds and Cap Gemini WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY Making the switch to energy-efficient lighting was considered a particular priority, since it can provide dramatic reductions in electricity use. We were particularly interested in using a retrofit product to install the new lamps, so that we could retain the existing light fittings in the building on the base. I was impressed that the lighting installation could be undertaken with minimal disruption to the building fabric and that it was a tried and tested technology.
