2 Safe, effective ultraviolet disinfection options for drinking water and wastewater treatment applications Ultraviolet (UV) disinfection is environmentally safe and recognized as effective for a wide range of pathogens, including viruses. For more than 20 years, Infilco Degremont s Aquaray UV Disinfection Systems have offered proven disinfection alternatives to protect the environment from toxic byproducts formed when hazardous chemicals, like chlorine, combine with organic compounds in receiving waters. UV disinfection is inherently safe and effective, requiring a fraction of the contact time needed for effective chlorine disinfection. UV disinfection also eliminates the need for plant personnel to transport, handle, or store toxic gases or liquids. 4 Aquaray 40 VLS VERTICAL LAMP SYSTEM FOR WASTEWATER Efficient, expandable vertical lamp systems for small- to mediumsize plants The Aquaray 40 VLS module features 40 low-pressure ultraviolet lamps arranged vertically to form a highintensity energy field. This staggered configuration dramatically enhances system performance by making it virtually impossible for an organism to avoid the energy field, even if a lamp fails. 7 Aquaray HLS HORIZONTAL OPEN CHANNEL UV DISINFECTION SYSTEM The Aquaray HLS Horizontal Open Channel UV Disinfection System is designed to provide low-cost UV disinfection of wastewater for treatment facilities with lower flow rates. Simple and inexpensive to operate, the Aquaray HLS is the ideal solution for small municipalities, golf courses, public parks, rest stops, and light industrial applications.
