1 NUCLEAR POWER PLANT INSPECTION The system offers the performance of the evaluation of the structural integrity of the major components of nuclear power plants and industrial facilities. The system performs the inspections and tests to meet to the inspection standards. TECHNICAL FEATURES Multi Channel UT System 4ch / 8ch / 16ch / 32ch / 64ch / 128ch Programmable Settings User oriented graphical display FPGA + DSP Chip for extremely fast ultrasonic data processing Noise Protection Circuit will keep test signal perfect condition Remote Monitor Display as a Remote Controller Software for Windows 2000/XP Up to 40K PRF (pulse repetition rate) Data Processor Print out for each probe Digital storage of test record Network Link AUTOMATED SCANNING SYSTEM In many cases, these activities are carried out in areas with high levels of radiation and contamination and that are difficult to access, for which reason it is necessary to use remotely-controlled robot-operated equipment for application of the Non-Destructive Testing techniques required.

2 COMPONENTS OF NUCLEAR POWER PLANT The scope of the inspection and testing services includes the automated inspection with ultrasonic techniques of all the areas of nuclear power plant reactor vessels and of other major components, such as for example piping and turbines. UNITEK also performs automated eddy current inspections of steam generator and heat exchanger tubes and of other components, such as reactor vessel closure head penetrations. NOZZLE WELD AUTOMATIC INSPECTION The inspections performed include the application of other Non-Destructive Testing methods such as magnetic particles, penetrant liquids and visual inspection. The latter includes the visual inspection and dimensional control of supports and snubbers in nuclear power plants, within the framework of the plant integral maintenance program. TURBINE BLADE INSPECTION

3 These Inspection include the inspection of both the exterior and the interior of the reactor vessel using ultrasonic techniques, according to the access conditions of the PWR and BWR nuclear power plants, the inspection of the internal components of the vessel and the inspection of the penetrations of the bottom and the cap of the vessel, the inspection of the welds of the guide tubes of the control rods to the vessel, and so on. Some of these components are also inspected using eddy current techniques, such as: the control rods, the penetrations of the reactor cap and the inspection of nuclear fuel elements. Another of the most significant activities AUTOMATIC UT SCANNER - VESSEL NOZZLE in the application of automatic systems, due to the difficulty of access and the large amount of data that can be collected and evaluated, is the eddy current inspection of the steam generator pipes in PWR and WWER plants. These inspections require, among other technological value added areas, the automatic analysis of the recorded signals by means of computer programs due to the enormous amount of data to be evaluated. An activity which derives from this kind of inspection is the inspection of condenser pipes and heat exchanger pipes in general, both in electrical power plants and other industrial installations: refineries, chemical installations, ship, etc. Furthermore, automatic, semiautomatic and manual inspections are made of the pipes of the different systems in plants together with the integral inspection of the turbo-groups: discs, sockets and retaining rings in conventional turbines and gas turbines in combined cycle plants.
