11 EXPERIENCE Delivering solutions on-time and within budget Ph Correction Facility BRIEF ph correction was needed to offset the rise in ph as a result of new concrete mains stabilising over the first few months of operation at this drinking water treatment plant SOLUTION A Carbon Dioxide dosing system was designed to dose automatically dependant on flow in the main and the ph of the sampled water. The ph correction system was designed to operate automatically with minimal operator involvement required. A CO2 gas leak detection and alarm system was also included for the protection of personnel Recycled Wastewater Treatment BRIEF Supply a standalone Sodium Hypochlorite storage and injection system compliant with all relevant legislation and Australian Standards including AS3780 for the disinfection of recycled wastewater SOLUTION Hydramet designed, supplied, fabricated, tested and commissioned a packaged sodium hypochlorite storage and dosing system with a minimum operating life of 20 years. The standalone system was supplied in a transportable building including all injection, power and control equipment for easy integration on-site. Hydramet projects include: Potable water treatment plants Desalination plants Irrigation schemes Recycled water treatment plants Industrial water treatment Aquatic disinfection NSW & ACT QLD (02) (07)

12 EXPERIENCE Ensuring optimum system performance Pilot Nitrogen Removal Plant BRIEF Construction of a pilot scale biological reactor for the removal of nitrogen from the sludge dewatering effluent at a wastewater treatment plant SOLUTION Supply, manufacture, install and commission the pilot plant on a transportable skid. The plant was supplied complete with storage and balancing tanks, a sequencing batch reactor with aeration and mixing. All associated pumps, piping, instrumentation, valves, electrical panels were also supplied pre-installed and tested on the skid, including a control room. Aquatic Disinfection BRIEF Hydramet designed a chlorine gas system to disinfect the water at the State Aquatic Centre. SOLUTION The system was designed to conform with AS2927: The Storage and Handling of Liquefied Chlorine Gas. A dual drum system on trolley tracks was fitted with digital weigh scales, a leak detector and automatic shutdown system. The feeding system includes dual vacuum regulators, vacuum ejectors, rate meters, boost pumps and valve strainer packages. The solution from Hydramet also included a carbon absorption colum, all the required safety signage and operator training.
