5 Step 3 - MICROBE-LIFT /KH Bio-Active Booster (Carbonate Alkalinity) MICROBE-LIFT /KH Bio-Active Booster is essential for nitrification. Should KH (carbonate alkalinity) levels fall below 100/ppm, nitrification will stop and WILL FAIL TO START AGAIN. With the loss of KH alkalinity, ph levels will vary and be difficult to stabilize.
