WG197 Small Scale Hydropower in Waterways - Need Multi-function Infrastructures Proposal by Holger (DE) and P. Rigo, March 2016 Main goal To develop a guideline concerning the best practice how to use the energy with small hydropower in inland waterways Overview of small hydropower devices Analysis of impacts on waterways Review of environmental, economic and operational aspects Interaction with weir and sluice for navigation

WG198 Salt water Intrusion Mitigations and Technologies Proposal by J. Sanchez, USACE, USA, March 2016 Main goal To rovide guidance and insight into the monitoring, moderating, and development of methods for addressing the issue of saltwater intrusion Evaluation of actual saltwater intrusion monitoring, mitigation, and modeling systems and approaches used for operational engineering.

WG199 Health Monitoring for Port and Waterway Structures (with Marcom) Proposal by J. Sanchez, USACE, USA, March 2016 Main goal To provide quantified probabilistic measures of risk and reliability necessary to make operational and financial decisions concerning the functionality and safety of those structures. This include listing of sensors, numerical models, degradation models and statistical procedures used to produce decision support information and their effectiveness.

WG*** Social and Environmental Awareness of Waterborne InfrastructureManagers Proposal by M. Demanet and D. Simon, SECO and SPW, Belgium, February 2017 Main goal To provide a general document showing possible contributions of the waterborne infrastructure in the global process of a more sustainable development of our society. The public authorities (Waterway managers) responsible of the common welfare a role of example or even precursor in this process. Have a role and major contributions

WG201 Development of an inland waterway classification for South America Joint proposal PIANC INCOM ECLAC Result of the workshop organised in Rio, Brasil, by ANTAQ, ECLAC and InCom during COPEDEC, October 2016 Main goal To develop a proposal and implementation strategy for a common supra-national inland waterway classification for South America, combining the knowledge of ECLAC. Collect information on standards and existing rivers classification / river characteristics. Analyze the convenience feasibility of the standardization in each region. classification for each region / continent

INCOM WORKSHOP October 19, 2016 PIANC ECLAC ANTAQ 1. Inland waterways in South America Towards a classification of IW in South America 2. Funding Schemes for Inland Waterway Development 3. Towards a Regional Dialogue on Inland Waterways Development ANTAQ ECLAC Agência Nacional de Transportes Aquaviários Economic Commission Latin America and the Caribbean

WG*** Cyber-security in Inland Waterways Proposal by P. Gernot, with interest of US, October 2016 Main goal To review technical literature related to cybersecurity risks which apply to inland navigation, as well as mitigating measures, taking into account work in neighbouring fields such as maritime transport and ports management. HQ waits feedbacks until 31 March, then launch the call for members INCOM Search for members

Proposal new InCom s WG WG Titel ToR Actions *** Multifunction of IW Chances and Challenges No New TOR proposed in January 2017 *** Air Clearance Risk & Safety No Too early to launch this ToR - We need a deep revision *** Update the Final Report (1986) of Study of locks No A table of contents was circulated ToR in preparation and/of need a deep revision.

WG*** Multifunction of Inland Waterways Chances and Challenges Proposal by A Dohms, BAW, Germany, (Dec 2016) Main request What are the tools for reaching agreements with stakeholders and how the non-navigational benefits of waterways can be combined with navigational aims? How to manage the conflicts between functions and uses of the waterways? The group is to investigate the interaction between the interests of the waterway management in terms of the navigational uses, and the interests of other stakeholders, coming from the nonnavigational uses. Next ToR to be submitted to ExCom, for ExCom in June 2017

WG*** Air Clearance Risk & Safety Proposal by L. Temer (A), P. Gernot (F) and JM Hiver (BE) Main request How to assess in real time the air clearance considering the real water level, wave (from lock and wind), the ship motion and real ship draft. Can we replace a real time monitoring instead of taking large safety and expensive safety margin?

Assistance and Control Systems to Enhance the Safety of Navigation in Inland Waterways (LAESSI funded by «Bundesministerium für Wirtschaftund Energie, BMWi» (DE) Bridge Collision Warning system Mooring Assistance Automatic Guidance System

WG*** Update the Final Report (1986) of the International Commission forthe Study of Locks Proposal by J. Clarkson, USA, October 2016 Main goal To update the 1986 Final Report of the International Commission for the Study of Locks.
