5 What Has Been Achieved? Since the inception of the ComEd Energy Efficiency Program in 2008 Customers have saved $2.7 billion+ on their electric bill 5

6 FEJA Future Energy Jobs Act (FEJA) passed December 2016 Legislation is a win for Illinois RENEWABLES - Provides $180 million per year growing to $220 million per year in RPS funding for renewable resources, including new wind power, large-scale solar power, and rooftop and community solar. ENERGY EFFICIENCY - Increases funding for energy efficiency from $250M up to $400M per year by Grows energy efficiency programs in a way that ensures all communities benefit, with at least $25 million per year dedicated to low-income energy efficiency programs through CREATES NEW JOBS - Create thousands of clean energy jobs through energy efficiency programs and energy innovation. - Provides for $30M in funding for three job-training programs a solar training pipeline, a craft apprenticeship program, and a multicultural jobs program. 6

7 FEJA Impact for 2018 and Beyond Legislation Period January 1 st December 2030 IPA Energy Efficiency Procurement Eliminated Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) Closing offices and transitioning programs to utilities 5/31/2017 Low-Income, Public Sector and Market Transformation will now be managed by ComEd Plan Length - Extended to 4 years for next two plans; then one 5-year plan kwh Savings Goals: no longer first year savings, now cumulative annual savings Gas savings up to 10% of goal can be met through converting therm savings to kwh savings Large C&I over 10 MW: Exempt after May 31 st,

13 Energy Assessments 13 A Facility Assessment is a free, high-level, on-site facility assessment conducted by a ComEd engineer Over the last three years, 1,600 Facility Assessments identified: 560 million kwh in energy savings $45 million in incentives 13

37 ICC Installer Certification Requirements Applies to energy efficiency measures that require an electrical connection Applies only where the incentive for the installed measure exceeds $300 The incentive or rebate will be withheld if the installing contractor is not certified or until certification is approved / verified. 38 Certification Key Points ICC Installer Certification Requirements are driven by Legislation Consider applying for Certification if you haven t already ICC Fee for certification is $100 Application forms and certification information -> ICC website Installers can certify post installation Annual recertification is required (no charge) June 1 of each year To minimize delays in incentive payout, customers may prefer to use certified contractors/trade allies 38
