Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare s Christian Mission, Motivation and. 2. Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent vocational experience relevant to role 3. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE is essential 4. Significant practical experience in classroom facilitation 5. A minimum of 3 years experience in working with people who have complex needs 6. Good understanding of the requirements of working in an aged care environment including accreditation standards, legislative requirements and relevant policies and guidelines. 7. Class C Drivers license 8. Demonstrated understanding of working with a person-centred approach to care 9. Demonstrated ability to liaise well with key stakeholders such as operational managers, clinicians, careworkers, and Hammond College colleagues 10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 11. Empathy and patience. 12. Strong computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ability to maintain database Desirable 13. Strong understanding of instructional design methodologies and practice experience developing training programs 14. 2 2. Context and Scope HammondCare is an independent Christian charity that exists to improve quality of life for people in need. We specialise in aged and dementia care, palliative care, rehabilitation, mental health services for older people, and other related health and aged care services. HammondCare seeks to embed evidence based best practice in its services and we provide these services through home care, subacute hospitals and residential aged care. Bringing these health, hospital and aged care services together, HammondCare has been able to develop innovative, flexible care models designed to serve people with complex health or aged care needs, regardless of their circumstances. HammondCare works to provide its staff with support, career development opportunities, education, responsibility and recognition, work/life balance, and satisfying roles. Summary of the role The role of Hammond College Educator works within the Mission and of HammondCare and makes a significant contribution to the Learning & Development Program throughout HammondCare. It is a central role, providing program development, implementation, delivery and support to the HammondCare College team and staff throughout HammondCare. All College Educators are required to travel between HammondCare sites and services. The essence of this role: The Hammond College Educator makes a significant contribution to the Learning and Development Program in throughout HammondCare by: Implementing learning and development strategies for HammondCare Ensuring all education programs are underpinned by and support HammondCare s Mission and and HammondCare s model of care.undertake program development, implementation, delivery and support to meet the learning and development needs of HammondCare staff Actively participate in the HammondCare College team to support the delivery of programs that meet the education priorities across HammondCare. Participate in the research, design and development of course materials and learning resources using instructional design methodologies and HammondCare templates in consultation with the business to meet training needs. with staff who are developing training and inservice education to support the delivery of high quality education through the use of instructional design methodologies Provide information on external education available and specialist resources to colleagues and staff. Supporting managers in ensuring staff complete all mandatory education required for their role. with College Manager and local service managers and co-ordinators to identify and analyse education and development needs of staff within HammondCare service. with the College Operations Manager and College Managers to develop a Training Plan to meet these needs. Measure delivery of this plan. collaboratively with other members of the Hammond College team. Share information and support HammondCare staff in meeting their education and development needs.
