2 Section 2: Key accountabilities and outcomes/tasks Technical accountabilities Deliver and maintain the architectural direction, principles, policies, standards, roadmaps, frameworks, patterns and methodologies for all technology. Develop and maintain applications, data and technical architectures; evaluation and assessment of technology; maintenance of architecture and technology standards, software re-use policies, and compliance issues. Ensure the governance of the corporate strategy through the development process ensuring alignment with roadmaps, technical policies and standards that deliver the optimal business value for the lowest total cost of ownership over the portfolio and life of IT assets. * Ensure the architecture references including principles, policies, standards, roadmaps, frameworks, patterns and methodologies are in place for the delivery of solutions. Work with the relevant teams to maximise the value they are able to derive from the architectural services provided. Ensure the architecture capability development, architecture communications, technology lifecycle management are developed, maintained and refreshed Ensure, strategic content, information quality, information security, and information accessibility are maintained at or above acceptable levels throughout portfolio change process, including active participation of governance bodies. Provide internal consultancy on architectural issues including the provision of recommendations. Perform architecture reviews, according to agreed plans, and assessing the degree of compliance with architecture and organisational standards. Tertiary degree qualifications in information technology, computer science or similar tertiary qualifications Skills Specific skills, software packages or licences required to perform the position and at what level. Excellent communication skills, flexibility, team focus and dedication to customer service Ability to communicate complex technical problems effectively to business managers in a clear and concise way in language and concepts they can understand Ability to problem solve difficult issues to arrive at a technical solution that meets the business needs Demonstrated leadership and people collaboration skills. Demonstrated ability to establish good working relationships at project level and with Senior Enterprise Architects Expert skills and considerable experience in one or more of the major architecture domains, and in the evaluation of business solutions and technology options Subject matter expert and proven experience in identifying, researching, evaluating and recommending new and emerging technologies relating to business architectures Demonstrated ability to create, deliver and implement solution architectures from inception. 5 Considerable experience in Cloud Computing, Mobility, Integration, Outsourcing and other new technologies, platforms and practices Experience Experience needed for the position. Minimum 7 years experience in Information Technology architecture Minimum 3 years experience as an Enterprise Architect security, risk and identity and access solutions Expert knowledge in enterprise architecture with knowledge of the entire Architectural Solutions function Proven experience in the application of technology solutions to business problems in large, multinational organisations Development and deployment experience on more than one platform Exposure to multiple development methodologies. Experience with both packaged and custom build software. Experience across the software development life-cycle, including high-level estimation and business case development Expert knowledge in business analysis including deep dives assessments and business analysis management. Working knowledge at a scale and complexity commensurate with Sydney Water's technology scale and complexity. Expert skills and considerable experience in Cloud Computing, Mobility, Integration, Outsourcing and other new technologies, platforms and practices. Strong working knowledge of IT management and enterprise architecture methods including SOA, TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT, ISO Additional knowledge and skills Desirable knowledge, skills or experience needed for the position. Member of professional IT organisations such as ISACA (CSP) Relevant security and risk certifications TOGAF certification Physical requirements Office Based Description: Works in an office and does no field work.
