Established in 1980, our collection includes the UNESCO World Heritage listed Hyde Park Barracks, The Mint, Australia s oldest surviving government building through to the twentieth century Rose Seidler House, which marks the arrival of the modernist movement to Australia. The collection is unlike other museums in that the significance of each is in the whole, and not just in the parts. The awareness of place frames each narrative. Our audiences are local, regional, national and international. Sydney Living Museums is a state cultural institution, reporting to the Minister for the Arts. The Strategy & Engagement Division is comprised of teams managing Strategic Projects, External Relations, Development & Fundraising, Experience & Learning, Digital, and the Hyde Park Barracks Bicentenary Project. The Division s functions include effective managing SLM s external relations, stakeholder engagement, donors and corporate partners; delivering strategic projects designed to renew our facilities and interpretation at our current sites, develop business cases that consider new at risk heritage sites that could form part of the SLM portfolio; create compelling innovative and engaging education and public programs to grow audiences, enhance perceptions of SLM and increase public appreciation for heritage. The Development and Fundraising Team is accountable for the agency s development and fundraising strategy in order to grow donor, partner and sponsorship revenue to increase annual revenue and value for SLM. The annual revenue target is $1 million from donations and corporate partners/sponsorships The team works across all channels to raise awareness of the philanthropic and commercial opportunities of the organisation, to promote investment and growth to achieve organisational strategic objectives. Primary purpose of the role Identify, secure, steward, retain and review new and existing corporate partnerships and sponsorships to meet Sydney Living Museums organisational revenue targets and enable the agency to meet its strategic objectives and mission. 1

2 Key accountabilities Conducts research to identify new and prospective partners and/or sponsors to increase support the agency s programs, events, exhibitions and properties while delivering mutually beneficial outcomes. Develop and manage the negotiation of corporate partner and/or sponsor relationships with existing and potential corporate partners and /or sponsors to position the agency for continued growth through the development of innovative partnership and/or sponsorship opportunities. Negotiate financial, contra and in kind or other agreements and contracts to ensure maximum value to the agency. Manage partner and sponsor benefits to ensure all contractual obligations are met within budget and contract time frames. Manage corporate partnerships servicing, reporting, budgeting and renewals, delivery of contractual obligations and benefits to fulfil agreements and create mutual beneficial brand building opportunities for all parties. Develop commercial strategies to move existing corporate partners and/or sponsors to higher levels of commitment and engagement with the agency. Develop and manage the design and production of proposals, presentations, agreements, internal and external reports and correspondence to facilitate the acquisition and successful delivery of commercial and corporate partnerships. Enhance and oversee the agency s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to identify, manage and communicate effectively with individuals, donors, partners, sponsors and other key stakeholders Key challenges Fostering an organisation-wide understanding of the benefits of corporate philanthropy and encouraging collaboration to develop excellent internal working relationships. Managing and influencing a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver corporate philanthropic growth and opportunities for the agency while ensuring business objectives are met. Maintaining current knowledge of information, policy and legislation in the fundraising sector to ensure the agency maintains best practice and has in place appropriate procedures, policies and standards in relation to fundraising and managing agency funds. 5 Direct reports Nil Budget/Expenditure Role works within the financial delegated authorities, approval levels and budgets. Essential requirements Tertiary qualification and/or significant relevant experience in corporate philanthropy Five years plus experience and success in procuring, managing and leveraging financial and strategic partnerships and sponsorship opportunities. Knowledge of the operations of trusts and foundation, charitable giving and the relevant legislation and policy. Current NSW driver s licence.
