2 Delhi India The International Tourism Partnership s, award-winning youth employability programme empowers the hotel sector to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals on inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all. YCI bridges the gap between persistent global youth unemployment and the sector s need for skilled young talent to employ.

3 YCI is a proven and scalable employability programme that provides disadvantaged young people with life and work skills in partnership with the international hotel industry. Before that I never would have been able to imagine living and working in Dubai. I have loved building a career, and I know what I want out of my future.

4 The issue and our impact There are 71 million unemployed youth worldwide and 156 million young workers living in poverty with insecure jobs. Youth employment remains a global challenge and a key concern for society and businesses alike. With travel and tourism providing one in every ten jobs, the hotel industry is well-equipped to offer meaningful work and career development opportunities to the young people in their communities. For over 20 years YCI has been helping disadvantaged young people with limited opportunities to access classroom learning and on-the-job skills training in hotels around the world. 85% of YCI graduates successfully find meaningful employment or return to education. 8 Building Partnerships YCI works with specialist non-profit partners in our many locations around the world. They share our purpose of helping disadvantaged young people to build brighter futures. 9 YCI helps survivors of human trafficking reintegrate into society The illegal trade in people is one of the most significant and fastest growing global crimes. Since 2011 YCI has worked to raise awareness of human trafficking and reintegrate survivors into mainstream society. By partnering with specialist agencies and equipping hotels with the knowledge and skills to support them, YCI has given survivors a mainstreamed peer group, and developed their skills for secure employment. YCI s work to reintegrate survivors has expanded from Mexico to Ethiopia, India, Kenya and Vietnam thanks to support from the US State Department.
