1 Diversity & Inclusion Personal transformation can and does have global effects. As we go, so goes the world, for the world is us. The revolution that will save the world is ultimately a personal one PO Box Cincinnati, Ohio Marianne Williamson info@riceeducationconsulting.com

2 Why Diversity The Business Case 1. It is the right thing to do! Kids should be allowed to go to school in a place where they feel included. Secondly, individuals should be able to work at a place where they feel included. 2. According to the National Association of Educators, an analysis of teacher diversity prepared by the National Collaborative on Diversity in the Teaching Force found that increasing the percentage of teachers of color in classrooms is connected directly to closing the achievement gap. 3. Research* suggests that companies who make diversity a priority and have well thought out diversity plans have a competitive edge in the marketplace. In addition, good policies and well trained leaders reduce the chances of lawsuits being brought forth by parents, students and/or employees. *Source: Best Practices in Achieving Workforce Diversity; conducted by the U.S. Department of Commerce and Vice President Al Gore s National Partnership for Reinventing Government Benchmarking Study
