2 Partnership Assessment and Quality Coordinator (Accounting & Finance) Responsible to: Accountable to: Head of Partnership Programmes Dean of Faculty Overall Purpose Working with the Head of Partnership Programmes and module, programme and subject leaders to: 1. Coordinate at module or programme level the academic relationship between UoN and one or more academic partners. 2. nsure that the quality and standards of programmes delivered by the University s partner organisations (UK and international) are consistent with those delivered by the University. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Maintain familiarity with an agreed subject portfolio of programmes and modules, including any planned curriculum changes through involvement in the Faculty s assessment and feedback (moderation) and annual review processes. Liaise with module and programme leaders to plan and organize the module and programme materials for programmes delivered with partners. Work with the Head of Partnership Programmes to identify training needs and communication requirements for partner and university staff and to deliver appropriate training as required. stablish and maintain effective, timely and professional communication with staff at partner organisations, providing a high quality responsive service that reflects the values of the University. Be the first point of contact for faculty and partner staff providing timely and accurate responses to questions and information requests relating to modules and programmes for which responsibility is held. valuate enquiries from partners, identifying creative solutions to ensure that common problems or concerns are proactively reduced through the provision of information or appropriate training or development. Understand and implement all relevant University policies and procedures as they relate to the delivery of programmes and modules by partner organisations. To provide academic oversight of quality and standards in relation to a subject specific portfolio of programmes and modules at partner delivery organisations, particularly through moderation and feedback. To implement the University s quality assurance and enhancement processes, including monitoring, evaluation and feedback, using and analysing data, and ensuring the data informs action planning. 3 Working with the Head of Partnership Programmes to review assessment instruments and assessment criteria prepared by staff at partner organisations by evaluating them against University criteria, advising staff at partner organisations on any changes required. Working with the Head of Partnership Programmes to negotiate and approve assessment submission deadlines in line with University policies, in liaison with staff at partner organisations, the Academic Partnerships Office and the Student Records Team. Moderate student work in accordance with the University s Assessment and Feedback Policy, record moderation comments, and liaise with partner organisation staff to agree final grades. Lead partners contribution to assessment boards to ensure that agreed grades are submitted in time to the Student Records Team and complete the grade checking process, taking responsibility for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the grade submission process. nsure samples of student work are made available to the relevant xternal xaminer for external moderation in accordance with the University s Assessment and Feedback Policy. Attend and actively contribute to Faculty Subject Moderation (standardisation and moderation) and module assessment boards. nsure the implementation of annual review process as it relates to partner organisations, contributing to the review of student outcomes and provision of feedback on partner organisation programme action plans to secure comparability of quality and standards. Work with the Head of Partnership Programmes and the Faculty Subject leader to ensure they have timely and accurate information on a subject specific portfolio delivered at partner organisations to secure robust quality assurance and enhancement processes across all the University s provision, including University Programme Annual Review (including responses to xternal xaminer reports), Faculty Action Plan and Annual Academic Partnerships Report to Governors and Senate. Work flexibly and responsively to manage a logistically complex workload that fluctuates during the calendar year. ngage in agreed continuing professional development (CPD) to maintain currency of academic expertise within the relevant subject domain and to maintain familiarity with relevant University policies and procedures. Generic Duties and Responsibilities All post holders are expected to work flexibly, and to undertake any responsibilities and tasks reasonably requested by the Dean and Head of Partnership Programmes. A 2 Master s degree in a cognate subject. (If a Doctorate is held, a Master s degree becomes a desirable criterion) A 3 Doctorate in a cognate subject (completed or within 12 months of completion). D 4 Professional recognition as HA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HSA, or willingness to obtain HA Fellow (D2) within an agreed timescale. Subject Specialism 5 Specialist knowledge of accounting & finance, and an ability to carry out high quality moderation across the subject at UG and PGT levels, as appropriate. / T Student xperience 6 Ability to moderate student work in a range of forms (e.g. essay, report, presentation, dissertation, portfolio, examination) through the application of defined assessment criteria, and to provide accurate, timely and effective feedback. / T 7 Ability to use a VL and related tools to access student work and to record second marking / moderation comments. / T Academic valuation 8 Ability to implement quality assurance processes effectively to secure quality and standards. / T 9 Ability to develop and implement quality enhancement processes to achieve improved outcomes. / T 10 Ability to conduct effective moderation discussions with staff at partner organisations to agree grades. 6 Terms and Conditions of mployment Job Title: Duration: Hours: Salary: Pension: Holidays: Notice period: Fixed term for 12 months To be agreed Grade 7: 34,189-38,460 per annum, pro rata ligible to join the Teachers Pension Pro rata 35 days per annum plus Bank Holidays and Closed days 2 months Probationary period: 12 months Additional Points to Note Applicants are required to provide two referees who can give an opinion on academic and/or professional work experience. Successful applicants are required to provide any stated/required qualifications and evidence of any memberships to professional bodies. Applicants must provide evidence of their right to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 and Immigration Asylum and Nationality Act The starting salary for all new appointments and internal promotions will normally be at the minimum point of the grade.
