Read the skill description. Emphasize Key Words. Manners Polite Respectful The little words please and thank you are powerful. When you want to get a person s attention to ask them for help or information, use the word please. When somebody responds to you and provides what you have asked for, use the words thank you. A student is eager to get information about an assignment and approaches the teacher s desk to ask questions. B. A teacher calls on a student to assist her/him with a task of moving books. They do the task together. Did you see a good example of saying please and thank you? What did the teacher do? What did the student do? How would you feel if you were the student in these situations?
