5 CN s Aboriginal Vision Adopted in 2013 Develop respectful and mutually-beneficial relationships with all Aboriginal people, while ensuring service to our customers. Be recognized by key stakeholders, including customers and Governments, as having a sound approach to engaging with Aboriginal Communities and having a respectful and sustainable relationship with Aboriginal people across the CN network Overview 5

6 HISTORY CN ABORIGINAL AFFAIRS CN develops its Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training (CAT): Practical Approaches to Aboriginal Community Engagement. CN becomes the first transportation company to be PAR Committed. The team is now made up of three Aboriginal Relations Managers for BC, AB to ON and the United States, as well as QC and the Maritimes. CN signs a three-year partnership with the Assembly of First Nations. CN becomes the first transportation company to be Bronze Certified within the PAR program. All 260 of the new locomotives CN ordered will feature the CN Aboriginal Affairs logo. CN Law Department was chosen as the winner for the Law Department Diversity Award category from the Canadian Lawyer InHouse Innovation Awards for its Aboriginal Strategy and CAT. More than 2,180 employees have taken CN s CAT CN enrolls in the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) program and becomes a CCAB Patron member. First CAT session is delivered in January. Two new employees joins the Aboriginal Affairs team. CN is recognized for excellence in Aboriginal relations and is awarded the Alberta Business Award of Distinction in the Indigenous Relations Best Practices category by the Alberta Chambers of Commerce. 12 FIRST STEPS IN THE PAR PROGRAM COMMITTED Discovery of the program. Aligns perfectly with CN s Aboriginal Vision and Strategy. Support from the executive level to start the PAR process and become Committed. Access to the PAR questionnaire. Teamwork with HR and P&SM to fill out the questionnaire. Determine our stengths and weaknesses within the program. Submission of our application in May Officially PAR committed in September Committed status reobtained in 2017 under the new PAR criteria Overview 12

13 RECENT STEPS IN THE PAR PROGRAM CERTIFICATION Start of the certification process in Jan. 2017, by completing a gap analysis to identify strengths and weaknesses. PAR Certified working session with PAR Committee during Aboriginal Affairs yearly strategic planning meeting. Submission of PAR Certified report in March PAR Verifier site visit in May 2018 with participation of CN executives and PAR Committee. PAR Jury deliberation and decision in July Decision communicated to CN in Aug Public Announcement - CN PAR Bronze Certified on Sept. 27, Overview 13

22 MAJOR HIGHLIGHTS Aboriginal Affairs logo officially recognized and visible on some existing locomotives on half the CN police car fleet on various types of equipment and will be featured on all 260 of the new locomotives being deployed across the network.
