3 Complete Your Profile This is an example of a current student without any work experience 1. You must enter at least one work experience if no experience, enter No Work Experience on first line. Save. 2. You must enter one Education listing. If you are currently enrolled in High School, this is an example of what you might enter. You have the option to upload your resume, a cover letter, school transcript, certificates earned or other supporting documents that you wish to share with employers and/or that an employer has requested.

4 You must complete the Self Assessment of Your Skills. Enter your current skill level. The Skill levels that you identify are important because employers use this as one of the tools to help them find candidates for job openings. Do not claim a skill or skill level that you do not have because that will not help you in your job search employers look for honest employees who are confident in their abilities. Take the TalentSorter Assessment/Survey Take the assessment this is untimed. Do not overthink the questions. If you are very tired and having interruptions, press Save & Continue then Logout. You will be able to log back in and complete the assessment.

5 Select your jobseeker status Active: Select I am an active job seeker looking for a job. o Employers will be able to see your information and assessment results and may contact you with information about a job opening. o If you are contacted by an employer, please have the courtesy to respond even if it is just to say that you are not interested in their position. Passive: Select I am looking for a job but don t want to be contacted by any employers o Employers will not be able to see your information or assessment results. o You will be able to do job searches ( Find a Job button). o If an employer gives you a Job Code or a Job Code is listed in instructions on how to apply, you can enter the Job Code and all of your information will be available for that employer and position only. Inactive: Select I am currently not looking for a job o No employers will be able to see your information or assessment results o You will be able to do job searches ( Find a Job button). o If an employer gives you a Job Code or a Job Code is listed in instructions on how to apply, you can enter the Job Code and all of your information will be available for that employer and position only. o This is the status that students who are not looking for work should always be using

6 Access the FitFirstJobs Resources Now the following resources are available to you: Individual Report: This tells you about yourself and what your core behavioral traits are. The information given can help in customizing a cover letter, adding a Strengths section to a resume (helpful if there is no work experience or breaking into a new field) and answering interview questions such as Tell me a little about yourself. Career Planner: o Review of your Signature Traits o A list of careers where others who share your Signature behavioral traits have proven to be successful. These are some idea of careers which you may wish to research for current work or for education and a future career o Link to with information about this valuable career research site. o Questions to ask yourself and ideas on what to look for when searching for a job and during the interview. Your fit to the job is not just important to the employer but also to you you want to be happy and successful in your work. Find a Job: Listing of Jobs currently posted by our FitFirstJobs employers showing the job title and the name of the company. Do NOT apply for any jobs listed by Employer Demo Test or by O K Widgets Company they are not real, just demonstrations. o o If you click on Show Details, the job description will appear. Be sure to read for any minimum qualifications to make certain you are qualified. If you are interested, select the Apply button and your information will be sent to the employer, applying for that position. The more information that you include about your education and training and about your work experience, the better your chances are for consideration by employers for the position.

7 o At the bottom of the screen, Find Other Jobs button will give you search results from many other job posting sites such as Indeed and Monster. They will be listed in the same order as the list of careers in your Career Planner. Show Details will give you information on the expected growth or decline of future jobs in that job title and a national average salary. Select more to find out about any jobs that are currently posted in our general area. If you find one that looks interesting to you, click on the (blue) job title and the link will take you to the full posting in the job board it is found. Keep in mind, some companies post the same opening with multiple job boards so there may be duplicate listings. Use a Job Code All jobs posted by employers using the FitFirstJobs system are assigned a unique Job Code. If you have been directed by an employer you contacted to come to this site and been given a Job Code, enter it here and your information will be sent to the employer as part of the application process. Select Use a Job Code Enter the Job Code for the employer or job opening information Select Use NOTE: Only one Job Code can be entered at a time. If you have previously entered a Job Code, your information will still be included for that job. Simply repeat all three steps to enter another Job Code. Entering a new Job Code will enter your information and assessment results for a new opportunity also. Existing Job Seeker Use the login. button with the and password that you used to register in the system to To change your Job Search Status Select My Profile Select your desired status in *Job Search Status dropdown Save & Continue To add additional or update Work Experience Select Work Experience If there is not a new (blank) work listing available, scroll down and select Add an Employer Enter data about the work experience. Edit any information for corrections, updates or additions to current listings. Save & Continue To edit Resumes/Attachments Select Resume/Attachments To Add a new file attachment

8 o Select the Browse button for either Resume or Cover Letter o Locate and select the desired file to upload o Save & Continue To delete an attachment o Select the Delete button to the right of the file you wish to remove NOTE: all file attachment will be identified as either a Resume or a Cover Letter but will be listed and can be downloaded separately. If you wish to include a copy of a certificate, transcript, etc., it will show Resume or Cover letter as a name but it will download the file you selected To change your Skill levels due to education, training or experience The Skill levels that you identify are important because employers use this as one of the tools to help them find candidates for job openings. Do not claim a skill or skill level that you do not have because that will not help you in your job search employers look for honest employees who are confident in their abilities. Select Your Skills Scroll through the skills and select the updated skill level you wish to self-attest. o NOTE: It is a good idea to read through all the skills you may have picked up some new skills or upgraded a skill that you had not thought about but might be valuable to an employer To Search for a Job Use the Find a Job option. This is a listing of Jobs currently posted by our FitFirstJobs employers showing the job title and the name of the company.
