1 Job Description Post title: Responsible to: IT Technician IT Manager Salary: OC Point ,671 29,147 Purpose of Job: The IT technician is responsible for the update and maintenance of all the IT infrastructure, hardware and software at The Camden College. You will be the primary point of contact for staff wishing to make enquiries and reporting faults using the college support desk system. Main Duties and Responsibilities: To assist the Senior IT technician and IT Manager with daily administration of the college s computer networks and maintaining college computer hardware including PCs, Macs, servers and peripherals. To help manage the college s Helpdesk Ticketing system and provide 1 st and 2 nd line IT support to staff and students and resolve issues efficiently. To set up and maintain college network infrastructure including cabling, switches, firewalls, racks and telephony including telephones and switches. To provide assistance with rollout and updating computer software in accordance with college plans and requirements. To Maintain the IT sset Register and liaise with external Vendors. To troubleshoot and attempt to resolve incidents and escalate issues to senior members as and when necessary. To maintain and administrate the college s multi-functional printers and print servers. To maintain MS ctive Directory, Group polices, Exchange/Office 365 and Google suite Platforms. To assist with the installation of new hardware and software and help train employees on its use. Undertake other duties relating to the efficient and effective management of the area consistent with the post responsibilities.

2 General Maintain up to date knowledge of developments and best practice in your area to provide sound professional advice to staff. Perform other duties as may be required by the Line Manager or the Principal to ensure the efficient functioning of the College. Other Duties and Responsibilities: The post involves working with young people and vulnerable adults and consequently is subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). PERSON SPECIFICTION IT Technician This person specification will be used in shortlisting and in interviewing to select the best candidate. You are therefore advised to address each aspect of the person specification in your written application. Qualifications 1 relevant qualification in computing, IT, ICT or networking, or equivalent experience, together with at least basic knowledge of network computing, the Internet and Intranets. Essential Desirable Method of assessment - pplication form I- Interview T- Test 2 GCSE Mathematics and English. Experience 3 Experience of providing First line helpdesk support. 4 Experience of providing high quality customer service. 5 Good working experience and knowledge of the following technologies: PC and Mac operating systems in a networked environment, ctive Directory (including troubleshooting domain problems), GPO, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Office, Wireless networking, Printers, phones and switches including troubleshooting networks and network devices.

3 6 Working experience and knowledge in Infrastructure Virtualization Technology Hyper-V or VMware. 7 Working experience in SaaS platform- Office 365 or G- suite. 8 Working experience and knowledge in SCCM or similar deployment and configuration Tools. 9 Practical experience in working with Windows Server 2012 R2 and later.
