The following vacancy is available as soon as possible: FIXED TERM FINANCE ASSISTANT (Hours of work: Exact hours to be discussed with Head of Department, 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only.) This post is fixed term until 21 st December 2018 Salary: 8.49 per hour Salary and terms and conditions in accordance with Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff pay and conditions. 2 winstanley college ROLE SPECIFICATION JOB TITLE: RESPONSIBLE TO: Fixed Term Finance Assistant Finance Manager This post is fixed term until 21 December 2018 Context Winstanley College employs approximately 200 staff and has approximately students, primarily studying A-Level courses. Key Responsibilities/Main Duties The position of the finance assistant (scale 2) will be to work within a busy finance team fulfilling a variety of tasks commensurate with the role. Key Responsibilities Operation of a particular administrative function or functions. Dealing with enquires both internal and external, conveying complex information. Operation and maintenance of specific College equipment used in the day to day execution of set tasks. Specific Tasks The role will involve working within the finance team. (see task sheet) The exact nature of the role will vary within the levels of responsibility detailed above. Skills, Knowledge and Experience Performance The role requires some previous experience in an administrative role. Knowledge of administrative processes and systems The role requires English & Maths qualification of GCSE standard or equivalent Completion of specific tasks and efficient administration of agree functions to required deadlines and to agreed standards. General To be responsible, while at work, for ensuring that reasonable care is taken for one s own health and safety and also for the health and safety of others. To be responsible and take ownership for one s continuous personal development, undertaking relevant training as and when appropriate, including appropriate Health and Safety training.

3 Task Sheet Assisting in the finance office by:- Processing bursary & FSM applications Processing transport standing orders Processing purchase orders on sage Processing purchase invoices and checking payment details Checking and receipting daily banking Checking and issuing petty cash Processing applications to and prizes for the amenities fund weekly draw and other work related to the amenities fund Ensuring that documents carry the correct authorisation & signatures General filing and office administration
