1 Position Description POSITION TITLE: DEPARTMENT: REPORTS TO: DIRECT REPORTS: Club Competitions Co-Ordinator Football Department Club Competitions Officer None PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: Provide administrative support to the NSWRL Junior League clubs within the 8 administrative regions of the NSWRL in order to deliver defined outcomes. Increase overall participation of Rugby League in accordance with NSWRL s strategic plan through delivery of player retention initiatives. The position provides administrative support to the NSWRL Junior Leagues and Junior League clubs. Key Result Area Major Activities Performance Measure 1. Roles & Responsibilities Administer and manage the competitions within each administrative region. Assist clubs in delivering alternative formats of the game such as W8s, M8s and FN9 s throughout the appropriate times of the year. Act as the primary liaison with NRL Game Development Officers in order to link clubs with NRL Game development and Coach Development activities. Collate competition draws and ensure that all information is provided to clubs, administrators and athletes in a suitable and timely manner. Work with the NSWRL club compliance officer to ensure that clubs are compliant with all NSWRL policies and procedures regarding compliance of coaches, manager and sports trainer. Responsible for convening all Code of Conduct and Judiciary hearings within the region and ensuring that all hearings and appeals are held in accordance with the NSWRL JL Code of Procedure. Act as the Member Protection officer (MPIO) for the administrative region. Assist clubs within the region with recruitment and retention See role KPI document 1

2 strategies. Develop and distribute resources to aid in recruitment and retention of athletes to all clubs Act as the point of contact for all clubs wishing to gain the Blue Shield Qualification Any other roles and duties required to assist the community football department in delivery of their game initiatives. 2. Building and maintaining key relationships Key external relationships with Junior Clubs and Junior League associations. Key internal relationships with Club Competitions Officer and other Competitions department staff in order to deliver strategic objectives. 5. Representative Represent the NSW Rugby League at all times internally and externally to promote a positive profile, brand awareness and perception of Rugby League within the community. Public awareness and perception as one unified brand 6. Corporate Governance & Compliance Understand relevant policy and planning to ensure individual compliance. Ensure that all programs and projects operate within the policies and procedures of the organisation Adhere to existing policies and processes to ensure adequate governance and compliance with company standards and regulations. Compliance with the Australian Rugby League Commission, Australian Sports Commission, State Sports and School organisation, and Local Councils are ensured The whole of game values are upheld Key Challenges Key Decision Making Authority Working hard to breakdown existing barriers and add value to Junior Leagues in the areas of competition management, volunteer training, game day experiences and conversion of experiences through NRLD to participants in junior clubs. The Club Competition Coordinator reports to the Club Competitions Officer Ability to work between levels 3 and 5 of the 5 levels of delegation. Intermediate/ Advance MS Office Excellent time management skills Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team Ability to work to deadlines High level of integrity Interpersonal skills Employment Conditions Remuneration will be in accordance with the NSWRL policy Employer s contributions to Superannuation Hours of work Ordinary Hours of Work shall be 38 hours per week, performed between Monday and Friday, plus reasonable additional hours required to fulfil the requirements of the job. Place of work will be dependent upon the region that the successful applicant is allocated to work in. All successful applicants will be required to undergo a mandatory Working with Children background check Work Health and Safety Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and all employees while at work.
