2 About the Illawarra Aboriginal Corporation The Illawarra Aboriginal Corporation is a not for profit community organisation incorporated under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act The IAC is a large and successful Aboriginal owned and operated organisation in the Illawarra which has been in operation for more than twenty five years delivering a range of programs and projects including Housing, Aged Care, Child Care, Emergency Relief, Employment and Training, and Child, Youth and Family Services. About this Program Myimbarr is an Aboriginal Child, Youth and Family Program under the Illawarra Aboriginal Corporation. Myimbarr has a number of projects including the Protecting Aboriginal Children Together (PACT) which is funded by Community Services. PACT has been developed to provide advice and case consultation to Community Services about culturally appropriate intervention for Aboriginal Children and Young People reported to CS as being at risk of significant harm. The model was developed with input from NSW Aboriginal peak organisations, mainstream non-government peak organisations and other NSW agencies, CS central and regional managers and representatives from the State Aboriginal Reference Group. The aims of this program are: Improve case planning & decision-making processes where an Aboriginal child or young person is the subject of a risk of harm report to ensure their best interests Improve Aboriginal family and community members involvement in supporting Aboriginal children and young people reported to Community Services Improve Aboriginal families and their children's engagement with relevant support services Reduce the number of Aboriginal children and young people in out-of-home-care placements with non-aboriginal carers.

3 Position details: Position: PACT Team Leader Reports to: Myimbarr Manager Employment Type: Full Time Hours per week: 38 Term of Contract: This position is a fixed term contract ending 30 June 2016 Award: Social, Community, Home Care & Disability 2010 Award Level: 8 Pay Point: 3 Remuneration: The suggested annual remuneration is $83,689 plus super and leave loading. This position includes Salary Sacrifice benefits, a work vehicle (with some private use) and a mobile phone. The total estimated package value is $108,394 The Remuneration, Award level and Pay Point may change depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant. About this Position This position will be responsible for the delivery, management and continual improvement of the PACT program and will be responsible for 3 Advisors and 1 Administration Assistant. This position will support the Advisors to provide cultural advice to Community Services staff in assessing, planning, implementing and monitoring cases for Aboriginal families where the children are at risk of placement in out of home care. Location and Geographical coverage This position is managed from Myimbarr PACT Office, Oak Flats but will service clients over the Shellharbour Area and requires regular travel.

4 Selection Criteria Essential Criteria Qualifications or experience in Aboriginal Welfare / Child Protection Qualifications or experience in Case Management Working knowledge of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 Working knowledge of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Regulation 2000 Working knowledge of WH&S and EEO practices Proven ability to liaise with relevant Govt and non Govt professionals, community groups, services and agencies in the provision and development of the program Proven ability to work within Aboriginal communities (including Extensive knowledge of the local Aboriginal community) Experience in Supervision / Management of staff (including conflict resolution) Excellent report writing skills Confirmation of Aboriginality (to be provided with your application) Current NSW Driver's licence Willing to undertake Working with Children Check Willing to undertake Police Check Desirable Criteria Experience in person centred approach to service provision Working knowledge of the Corporations (Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (CATSI)

Activity Tasks for this Activity Performance Measures Operations Management Ensure that the program meets the defined objectives, service responses and performance measures Plan, coordinate and control the day to day operations of the program Seek and analyse stakeholder feedback Feedback (Service Provider) Feedback (Staff) Feedback (Board) Feedback (Clients) Case Management Case Management (cont) Work with FaCS case workers to ensure that all clients have a culturally appropriate case plan that involves agreed goals Liaise with FaCS to assess, plan, implement and monitor case management in order to strengthen familes and reduce risks to children and young people Work with case workers to ensure that case plans are appropriate to the needs of the individual and family and that goals are attainable and measurable Assist, facilitate and participate in regular case reviews with FaCs and other appropriate agencies dependant on the age of the child or young person Assist, facilitate and participate in case meetings Feedback (Service Provider) Feedback (Myimbarr Manager) Up to date and accurate record of case plans

Activity Tasks for this Activity Performance Measures Case Planning Ensure that an appropriate service Record of completed entry and exit entry and exit policy is in place protocols, policies and procedures Ensure that case planning and records management policies are in place and adhered to by staff Ensure that adequate transitional arrangements are made for exiting families while ensuring that they are referred appropriately Reporting Networking Maintain statistical records/data bases in a timely and accurate manner Undertake administrative functions associated with the work performed to ensure the maintenance of current and accurate records in compliance with legislative standards Complete monthly reports including statistical reports, project work, client reviews and a record of staff reports Monitor and audit staff developed client files to ensure proper data collection, entry, storage and useage Participate in PACT and other appropriate meetings with FaCS and other networks Assist in the development of a community network forum to provide information and resources Participate in Community Development activities related to the improvement and promotion of the PACT service Document outcomes & achievements from networks and meetings Attend Staff Meetings and case reviews Coord/Mgr/Supervisor review of monthly reports Feedback (Staff) Up to date record of client file assessments and audits Feedback (Service Provider) Record of meetings attended Record of outcomes and achievements from networks and meetings Record of staff meetings and case reviews
