2 PURPOSE To Uncover, Pioneer, Connect and Advance healthcare delivery outcomes throughout the African continent through a host of innovative health initiatives. Motivated by the Bertha Centre s commitment to enable, awaken and transform people and healthcare systems from the inside out by applying the lens and process of social innovation to healthcare systems across Africa, the role will: Uncover, acknowledge and promote high potential innovations and business models within innovative healthcare, Pioneer new mechanisms of unlocking bottlenecks to healthcare systems and healthcare innovations as well as unexplored/ untapped healthcare possibilities and potential, Connect members across sectors for the advancement of inclusive healthcare, Facilitate connections between healthcare stakeholders through gatherings, events, and individual relationship brokerage Promote the usage of research/evidence based healthcare solutions and models in the sector, Effective and efficient utilisation and management of resources, inclusive of financial and human resources. 13 October 2015 Page 2 of 5 HR191

5 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Minimum qualifications Post Graduate Degree Educational & Experience Requirements An appropriate post graduate qualification (MA, MBA, MPH or other relevant qualification) Practical experience in implementing and managing projects 5 years of work experience, with a minimum of 3 years in relevant domains (social innovation, inclusive innovations in healthcare, health systems innovation, etc.) Experience working with stakeholders across sectors (including private, public, and civil society) A background in working with social innovators, governments and development institutions or using systems thinking or systems approaches would be a plus Minimum experience (type and years) Skill Requirements: Highly organized, and effective in delivering on set objectives across multiple projects and initiatives Ability to manage budgets and use funding efficiently Ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver high quality work Ability to manage multiple, often complex and/or competing priorities Ability to communicate professionally, and manage relationships with high-level partners Proficient writing skills and report writing Proficient computer skills (particularly for communications in this role) Knowledge of systems thinking in social entrepreneurship and/or social innovation in health a plus Characteristics: Passionate about supporting a systems approach to social innovation A creative team player, involved in and committed to the Bertha Centre s mission, priorities, and team Alignment with the Bertha Centre s core values, namely our commitment to being People & Community focused; Courageous & Entrepreneurial; Collaborative & Inclusive; and Considerate & Humble Willing to support Bertha Centre team members in multiple ways, sometimes beyond job description COMPETENCIES Competence Level Competence Level Adaptability and Flexibility 3 Teamwork 3 Building interpersonal relationships 3 Communication 3 Analytical thinking / Problem solving 3 AGREED BY PRINT NAME SIGNATURE CONTACT NO.
