This opens an opportunity for a talented business leader. Reporting to the VP (Finance), the Director of Funding will play a key role in shaping the direction of the College. You will already have proved your experience and knowledge of Further Education Funding Guidance, as well as detailed knowledge of MIS systems, Exams and Reporting and will be keen to work as part of an innovative senior team to deliver the excellent people with relevant skills that Nottingham and Nottinghamshire needs for its future. 5 FUNDING 75,000 per annum Reporting to the Vice Principal (Finance), the Director of Funding will strategically influence and help to drive this new College to deliver towards the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire economic growth strategy. NOTTINGHAM COLLEGE THE BUSINESS Our aim is to fundamentally change the landscape of Further Education in the greater Nottingham conurbation to meet the needs of over 5000 employers and to fill the skills gap. We will provide this service through innovative and effective training and education delivered by a first-class team committed to our goals. When established, Nottingham College expects to attract 40,000 students, employ 2000 staff and reach an annual turnover of around 90 million. PORTFOLIO OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The portfolio and opportunities within this role include: Understanding a large multi-site college, and being able to communicate effectively with other members of the Senior Leadership team Overseeing the Management Information System teams, delivering accurate and timely ILR returns and compliant funding claims and wider management reporting throughout the student to work journey Responsibility for the establishment and effective operation of an MIS platform Play an active role in the business planning cycle, system set-up, interaction with other corporate functions, alignment with strategic priorities and ensuring funding allocations are delivered to target Oversee the Examinations team, ensure planning for the examinations cycle, and streamlining of processes Support admission and enrolment processes and take advantage of technological improvements to improve the customer journey and deliver efficiencies Ensure compliance with key future funding changes are planned, and information is disseminated to relevant departments to raise awareness of funding changes To lead on internal and external audits as appropriate including the external student learner numbers audit To manage timetabling and on-programme tracking to ensure resources are optimised and withdrawals are timely KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic leadership of the MIS team Overall responsibility for the ILR submissions, and the accuracy of the data contained within Liaising with funding agencies and account managers on behalf of Nottingham College Overseeing and co-ordination of the planning cycle for Nottingham College Supporting Heads of Faculty & Faculty Area Managers to design their curriculum in a way that meets the funding requirements as well as maximises the funding that is available Leading on performance reporting to produce smart, timely & accurate reports to identify the progress against curriculum and commercial delivery Strategic leadership of the Examinations team Strategic leadership of the Technical/Reporting team As this is a new role, the precise details of the duties and responsibilities will be developed with the post holder. CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITIES: To contribute to the strategic leadership of the College and shaping the vision As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, to take collective responsibility with colleagues for delivering strategic objectives To ensure the responsibilities of the post are carried out in a way that reflects the standards, vision and values of the college To set, monitor and deliver on key performance indicators across the College, aiming to deliver continuous improvement To inspire and motivate staff, developing and managing team members (direct and indirect) effectively and enabling them to give of their best To deliver value for money and manage resources effectively and efficiently, ensuring that targets (financial and non-financial) are met To promote the College to employers, sector bodies, schools and the local community, developing effective partnerships with employers, the funding agencies and other representative bodies To proactively promote Safeguarding practice, EDI and Health and Safety

6 FUNDING Person Specification QUALIFICATIONS Professional, academic or technical qualifications at degree level or above An active record of continuous professional development EXPERIENCE & SKILLS Extensive knowledge of Further Education funding methodologies, including the Education Funding Agency, Skills Funding Agency and Higher Education Funding Council for England Significant experience of MIS, Exams and Reporting Significant senior leadership experience Proven management and leadership skills at a senior level both strategic and operational The ability to motivate, inspire and influence a large and diverse workforce by example and persuasion The ability to develop and project a positive image of the College through personal, written and oral skills An ability to recognise, develop and effectively promote new opportunities for the College Strong, evidenced project management experience Experience of managing financial budgets Ability to analyse data and use management information systems PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES A strategic thinker Great people skills and a track record in change management Outstanding commercial awareness and insight An ability to work in uncertainty Self-reliant and resilient Professional and value led with integrity, inclusivity and respect for diversity Motivation to work in an educational environment, and an ability to form personal boundaries, with young people and vulnerable adults.
