2 Start your journey Why spend months on an annual planning process you know is flawed? Why spend precious time on an annual report recasting numbers that were available the first week of the new year? Why spend a week or two on the monthly finance report that may not be read? Author and performance management leader, David Parmenter, has collected practices from more than 4,000 corporate accountants, from all sectors around the world. These four masterclasses will draw on the books David has written - Winning CFOs, Key Performance Indicators Developing, Implementing and Using Winning KPIs and Key Performance Indicators for Government and Non-Profit Agencies. Led by author, presenter & facilitator David Parmenter B.Com, FCA (ICAEW) Author of four books on performance management all published by John Wiley & Sons Over 20 years of consulting and benchmarking experience with a variety of organisations around the world Has been a full time speaker and writer for the last twelve years, delivering workshops in over 20 countries Has worked for BP, Ernst and Young and Arthur Andersen & Co Join internationally renowned presenter and author, David Parmenter, for his masterclass series that will provide you with the skills and strategies to cement yourself as a valued business partner within your organisation. The 4-part series will reveal how you can improve the effectiveness of your performance measures, improve the leanness of your accounting function and avoid the dysfunctional annual planning process through implementing rolling planning. Each masterclass will build on the previous, providing a clear path towards your financial leadership and excellence. Masterclasses can also be attended as a stand-alone unit or if the full series is booked, can be shared around amongst members of your team.

3 course 1 Implementing Rolling Planning a solution to the dysfunctional annual planning process 1 Day masterclass 1 This course will explain why the quarterly rolling planning (QRP) is the most important management tool of this decade and how QRP is a more involved form of rolling forecasting. It will also show how QRP will revolutionise your company, removing the shackles of the often dysfunctional annual planning process. The masterclass will include an in-depth how to implement guide, case studies and an outline of the forecasting and planning tools currently available. Implementing QRP requires a number of key steps and this workshop will go through them to ensure attendees have an in-depth understanding. Once the course is completed, participants will have the opportunity to work with the comprehensive white paper and accompanying electronic templates to help kick-start the process. David Parmenter is one of the world s leading experts on QRP, a very new area which has evolved with the advent of beyond budgeting. His courses are renowned for their clarity and for showing a clear route forward. Very useful, reinforced some thoughts. Especially relevant with our planned introduction of a planning tool. Covering the latest thinking on KPIs, and based on David s internationally recognised work and his two KPI books, this masterclass will give you insights and a practical step by step methodology to rediscover your critical success factors and the underpinning winning key performance indicators. Organisations with over 20 KPIs lack focus, lack alignment and underachieve. David believes there are normally fewer than 10 true KPIs in an organisation and these should be measured and reported on daily, or at least weekly. In this workshop David will explain that there are four types of performance measures and choosing the right mix is crucial for effective measurement and control. Difference between the four types of performance measures What are key performance indicators? Understanding the myths of performance measurement that lead to failure Understanding the dark side of performance measures Finding the critical success factors (CSFs) in your organisation Common critical success factors and their likely performance measures How to brainstorm performance measures The seven foundation blocks and the 12-step model to developing and using winning KPIs KPIs for your enterprise KPIs: the road ahead Selling the change to the SMT through their emotional drivers
