1 Job Description Job Title: Employers for Carers Membership Support Administrator Responsible to: Staff reporting: Location: Employers for Carers Operations Manager None 20 Great Dover Street, London, SE1 4LX Date updated: February 2017 Duration of contract: Fixed term, 6 months This job description gives an outline of the main duties of the post. It does not form part of the contract of employment and may be changed from time to time in consultation with the post-holder. Carers UK operates in an environment of teamwork and mutual support and the post-holder will be expected occasionally to help other colleagues. Likewise s/he can expect assistance in return when necessary. Aims of the Post To support Employers for Carers (EfC) to develop and grow as an innovative and practical membership forum and service to employers. To provide support to members and prospective members in contact with Employers for Carers and to assist relationship building with existing members through active member engagement To provide related events, communications and administrative support to the Employers for Carers forum.

2 KEY TASKS Membership services and support 1. Ongoing membership servicing by responding to member queries (telephone and ), general enquiries and requests for EfC training or consultancy services 2. To co-ordinate the new member joining process including sending out welcome letters and packs and new member questionnaires and administering access to the EfC website. 3. To chase and collate information from new member questionnaires and to follow up actions requested from questionnaires. 4. To arrange introductory meetings with new members and encourage uptake of initial diagnostic sessions. 5. To administer membership renewals by tracking renewal dates, raising invoice requests with finance and tracking payment. 6. To support and help develop EfC training and consultancy activities both with member organisations and non-member organisations. Related events, communications and administrative support 7. To assist in the development and communication of relevant EfC promotional material including for the website and for mailings to prospective EfC members and training and consultancy clients. 8. To work with EfC Operations Manager to increase and retain EfC membership, including through implementation of employer contact activities and maintaining a sales pipeline. This will include identifying and contacting employers from a range of sectors. 9. To administer and implement activities such as EfC events which can be used as a marketing tool to attract new members, including co-ordinating the invitation process and assisting with event organisation. 10. To provide related communications and administrative support for the above including setting up meetings with potential members and training and consultancy clients and assisting with joining arrangements and contracts. 11. To provide relevant administrative assistance including; researching new employer contacts, maintaining contact lists and sales pipeline, using databases (including Progress), helping with correspondence and mailings, event organisation and responding to queries.

4 PERSON SPECIFICATION Job Title: Employers for Carers Membership Services Officer Able to deliver excellent customer service, face to face, in writing and by phone. Experience of developing and managing CRM systems. Ensuring records are kept up to date and accurately. Experience of project management, including demonstrable ability to work on own initiative and prioritise own workload. Good customer relationship skills and communication skills, including the ability to engage with representatives from member and prospective member organisations at all levels. Demonstrable ability to work effectively and efficiently to tight deadlines. Good knowledge of IT packages and systems, including word processing packages, excel, databases and website updating. Good research skills including the ability to identify, update and report information. Good administrative skills including the ability to plan, organise and implement activities. Understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities. Good time management skills, including the ability to plan relevant activities and implement them.

5 Terms and Conditions Post: Location: Salary: Contract: Visa requirements: Hours of Work: Membership Support Administrator 20 Great Dover Street, London, SE1 4LX or if required at another location or office to be able to carry out the duties of the post 24,692 pa Inclusive of Inner London Weighting Fixed term 6 months Carers UK is not able to issue sponsorship certificates to individuals without the right to work in the UK The standard working week is 35 hours. The normal working days are Monday Friday, 9am 5pm (with a one hour unpaid lunch break unless agreed otherwise). If you are part-time, your hours and days worked will need to be agreed with your line manager There is no paid overtime; however there is a TOIL system in place Carers UK actively pursues a work/life balance for its entire staff. Any member of staff can make a request to work flexibly Probation period: Annual leave: All new appointments are subject to a probationary period of 6 months The holiday leave year runs from January to December. Holiday entitlement for full time employees is 25 days per annum and bank holidays (pro rata for part time employees) Additional leave is provided to staff with long service 3 years service = additional 2 days (27 days) 5 years service = additional 1 day (28 days) All employees receive an additional 3 days leave when the office is closed during the Christmas and New Year holiday (pro rata for part time employees) Pension: Carers UK operates a Group Personal Pension Scheme in line with legislation that complies

6 with the statutory obligations of auto-enrolment. Carers UK pays in a sum equal to 5% of salary.
