12 Culture of Learning Is training currently part of your organizations culture? How have other training initiatives been embraced? Have past training programs been successful? - If, so how was it measured? - Were goals and milestones set for the program? How is training accepted by Managers and/or Supervisors? Has an appropriate Learning Environment (Training Room) been provided to your associates? Do your trainees have familiarity with computers? 12

13 Goals and Expectations What is the overall purpose of the training? Who is it intended for? - New employee training/onboarding - Career paths - Existing employees Is this training a component of a larger initiative? - What are the overall goals? - How will it be measured? - What is your timeframe for meeting these goals? 13

14 Goals and Expectations Is the training considered Mandatory or Voluntary? Who will be the day to day drivers (cheerleaders) for the training? Is there a plan in place for recognition of completion of training or milestones associated with program? 14

15 Communications How will the training program be announced and/or communicated to trainees? - Large company wide meetings, , team meetings etc. - How will the training affect their job, what are the benefits, and why is it being done? What are Management and/or Supervisors roles in the training, and how is this being communicated to them? Will there be ongoing messages, announcements, updates or recognition throughout the training program? 15

16 Deployment: Content Building the system to best accommodate your goals Has the Curriculum (classes) to be taken been determined? Will different people, departments or job roles be taking different classes? Do you have core class that everyone will take? 16

17 Deployment: Content and Competency Models Tooling U SME can provide assistance in selecting the appropriate content and can also build programs within the system. Have the classes chosen been vetted by supervisors/managers so they can have buy in to what their associates are taking? Will there be any supplemental or blended training utilized to reinforce the online classes they have taken, who is the owner of this process? Competency Manager, will a competency manager be utilized as part of your training program? 17

18 Deployment: Reporting and Security Roles What type of data/reporting requirements do you want to have access to? What type of requirements/permissions will you be utilizing for your associates? Who will be administering the system on a day to day basis? If not you, we need to determine these stakeholders and clearly communicate to them their objectives and goals for the duration of the project 18

19 Deployment: Monitoring Will Managers and Supervisors be responsible for monitoring their associates? In addition to Administration access; will they also be provided with student accounts to access the training they are expecting their associates to take? Either way, these roles are important for the buy in of the training program and should be able to talk the talk 19
