1 Job Classification CNC Concrete inisher Class Title: Concrete inisher LSA Status: Non-Exempt BRIE DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this position is to ensure the proper finish and removal of concrete for the City. This is accomplished by finishing concrete; preparing for pouring concrete; and removing concrete. Other duties include pouring concrete; using heavy machinery; and interacting with other City employees and citizens. ESSENTIAL UNCTIONS: This information is intended to be descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. The following examples do not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent. Exerting lbs. frequently, or up to 10 Exerting lbs. frequently, or up to Exerting over 100 lbs. occasionally, lbs. frequently, or up to # Code Essential unctions 1 M inishes concrete by floating out concrete edges; cutting joints; brooming the finish; cleaning up around patch; applying back fill and crack seal; and picking up barricades. 2 M Prepares for pouring concrete by forming sets; spreading base to bring up to grade; tying steel; drilling holes; and tying steel to dowels. 3 H Removes concrete by closing street or work area; sawing concrete; breaking and removing concrete; using heavy machinery; digging concrete out; and hauling it off to the landfill. 4 H Pours concrete by ensuring that concrete is poured out of cement truck properly; pulling concrete with a come-along; and leveling it off with a screed board. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency. Over one year up to and including two years. Valid Class A Driver's License Intermediate - Ability to read papers, periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study. Intermediate - Ability to deal with system of real numbers; practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and measurement. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and selfstudy. Basic - Ability to write simple sentences containing subject, verb, and object, and/or series of numbers, names, and addresses. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in elementary school up to high school. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study. Receives direction: The employee normally performs the duty assignment after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results with some discretion when making selections among a few, easily identifiable choices. Assignment is reviewed upon completion. Work requires the occasional direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, volunteers or temporary employees. Work involves choices of action within limits set by standard practices and procedures. Professional judgment is required to apply the proper course of action.
