There are over 1.2 million stroke survivors in the UK. Almost two thirds have a disability and one third rely on others for help, making stroke one of the biggest causes of disability. We are continually working to improve the lives of stroke survivors and their families who deserve the very best treatment and care. We deliver amazing, life-changing support to over 60,000 stroke survivors and their families each year. We also fund research to find better treatments, campaign for better stroke care and help people understand how to spot and prevent stroke. 2 Directorate Our People and Organisational Development plays a vital role in delivering our strategic ambitions. This is a large team with the aim to help drive quality and organisation development to maximise growth across the Association. Areas of responsibility include HR, learning and talent development, quality; audit; process and systems improvement; business opportunity and product management and development. Join us and help to achieve a world free of stroke. Purpose of role Every Stroke Association role is designed to contribute towards achieving our strategic ambitions. The particular focus of this role is to help us to achieve Ambition 6: Building the foundations for long-term growth. The Learning and Talent Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activity of the L&TD team and acting as the first point of contact for the team with our client base at the Stroke Association. Key responsibilities of role Responsibilities Performance Indicator Key Competencies To manage all administration of courses within the Learning management system and L&TD portfolio System information is kept up to date and courses are able to run with planned complement All learners receive joining instructions in timely manner Customer focus, Business Acumen, Leadership, Managing Development & Performance

3 Logistics for courses catering, venue booking, preparing and distributing relevant materials and ensuring trainers have what they need, attendance record keeping Courses and related logistics are planned in timely fashion in most cost effective manner Accurate attendance records Business acumen Collaboration Communicating and Influencing Acting as the first point of contact for the team and handling the help desk enquiries each day To provide accurate management information on compliance of mandatory courses All customer queries responded to and resolved within our SLA s Problem solving where possible to reduce escalation levels to rest of L&TD team. Reports on learner status and L&TD team KPI s produced accurately within Service Level Agreement timings Communicating and influencing Collaborating Business Acumen Communicating and influencing Managing and developing performance To manage all administration of users within the Learning management system Learning Management System users are all up to date on the system Accurately processing and recording invoices/spend Suppliers paid within agreed timeframes and all payments accurately tracked on our budget systems Business acumen

4 Managing the evaluation systems for key courses to measure their value Evaluation data gathered and analysed for key courses Customer focus, Business acumen, Continuous improvement and innovation To ensure that information regarding Learning and Talent Development activity is accurately communicated across various channels including the Learning Management System, , and our intranet. The L&TD team s client base are aware of current key projects and learning activities that they need to be involved in Collaboration, Continuous improvement and innovation, Communicating and influencing Improve administrative processes and systems across Learning and Talent Development to improve efficiency and deliver consistently excellent customer service. Customer Service Level Agreements are met and systems running accurately and effectively for the L&TD team Collaboration, Continuous improvement and innovation, Open-Minded

5 Mandatory responsibilities of role To undertake any other duties commensurate with the purpose and remit of the post. Responsibility areas Performance Indicators Key Competencies To ensure that you manage and develop your own performance Evidenced attendance at personal training and regional events Managing and Developing performance. Leadership All mandatory training is completed Performance and Development Review completed to standard. To follow the Stroke Association s policies and procedures Personal training record Familiar with competency framework including values, mission and vision. Accessed and read the Staff Handbook and any relevant policies and procedures to your role. Willing to travel during the course of your duties with possible overnight stays away from home. 6 Person specification Education and Qualifications Educated to a minimum of GCSE level or equivalent or relevant demonstrable industry experience Willingness to undertake training and undertake continuing professional development Experience Experience of using technology and IT systems Administration including record keeping, creating reports and handling queries Experience of working with a database to enter, quality assure, and report on a range of information. Experience of working in a learning and development environment Experience of working with an Information Management System Experience of supporting event coordination Skills and Abilities Ability to communicate effectively face to face, in writing, by , on the telephone, including public speaking. Ability to confidently use Outlook, Word and Excel and other programmes as required. Ability to demonstrate empathy whilst remaining objective and professional Knowledge of Learning Management Systems Ability to form and maintain professional relationships with others, both internal and external to the Stroke Association Report writing skills, including interpreting and presenting data in a variety of formats /
