The Junction Works service provision is underpinned by the philosophy and practice of person centred planning. The Junction Works main office/service centre is based at Austral, with multiple program sites, servicing people from the LGAs of Bankstown, Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield, Liverpool, Wingecarribee and Wollondilly. OBJECTIVE: The position will support a clinical team that will provide expertise and specialist behaviour supports for people with a disability that have complex behaviour support needs. Complex support needs may include support relating to mental health, trauma recovery, contact with the criminal justice system and substance abuse. The position will also need to engage with clinicians of NGO s that support people with disabilities, focusing on capacity building by addressing systemic gaps, skill building and peer mentoring. 2 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBLITIES: Provision of expert assistance to develop, implement and review a behaviour support strategy that supports people with a disability that have complex behaviour support needs. Facilitation of capacity development initiatives in consultation with other NGO s. This may include specific training, workshops and forums, and fee for service consultations to ensure sustainability. Provision of clinical supervision for Psychologists within the organisation and to other disability and mainstream organisations. Recommends the most appropriate behaviour support approach and collaboratively designs support plans with the relevant internal and external stakeholders according to the needs of the person with a disability. Conduct comprehensive behaviour assessments enabling the design of matching behaviour support plans in consultation with the person and their support network. Liaise and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders to establish positive working relationships and coordinate effective communication with other agencies. Provide training specific to the assessment and provision of support for people with a disability and complex behaviour support needs. Evaluate behaviour support systems, processes and clinical practices to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of services provided in order to improve quality. Lead or participate in projects in relation to enhancing practice in behaviour support such as the development, implementation and review of practice guides, or trialling innovative models of support and intervention. 3 KEY SELECTION CRITERIA: ESSENTIAL Recognised 4 year Degree in Psychology with full registration as a Psychologist in NSW with the Psycholgist Registration Board (PRB). A minimum of 5 years experience working in the speciality field of Behaviour Support within a disabiity context. Demonstrated experience in the supervision of staff. Experience in conducting comprehensive behaviour assessments and designing, implementing and evaluating behaviour support plans. High level knowledge regarding the management of restrictive practices in a way that meets ADHC behaviour support policy requirements. DESIRABLE: Approval to act as an Australian Psychological Board approved supervisor Certificate IV Training and Assessment POSITION GRADE: Health Professional & Support Services Award 2010 Level 4 DRAFT 3
