2 is one 12 venues within HQ Theatres & Hospitality s (HQT&H) current portfolio of regional theatres and concert halls. HQT&H currently manages 18 auditoria on behalf of local authorities, with capacities ranging from a 200 seat arts centre to a 2,400 seated/standing theatre. Last year HQT&H programmed a total of 2,354 shows which attracted attendances of over 1.5 million. HQ Theatres & Hospitality (HQT&H), the UK s second-largest venue operator, is a division of Qdos Entertainment Ltd, one of the largest entertainment Groups in Europe. Located in the heart of the prosperous Guildford town centre, is a remarkably flexible venue capable of accommodating the varied needs of professional touring shows and local community organisations, as well as being a vital linchpin within Guildford s business and leisure tourism offer. The Main Hall is a highly flexible space with a seated capacity of 1,031 rising to 1,700 in standing format. It has class-leading acoustics, excellent technical facilities and is highly accessible. The venue includes the Bellerby Studio and the Glass Room (both 100 capacity) and a range of meeting and function rooms. Working hours may include evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. The post attracts no additional payments for overtime or late working. You will be based at, London Road, Guildford and may be required to travel to and work at other HQT&H venues. Approved travel expenses will be reimbursed. Managing, monitoring and delivering programmes of work relating to department strands, principally concerning work with young people and their families. The post holder contributes to the success of the venue through the management of all aspects of s creative learning programme. The is responsible for all participatory aspects of the programme, so as to support achievement of agreed targets, standards and objectives. 3 REPORTING You will report to the Theatre Director. You will line manage casual staff, sessional staff, practitioners, volunteers, artists, interns and young producers. ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. The proposal, development, management and maintenance of an exciting, ambitious and original creative learning programmes for, with the objective of ensuring that the venue is fully and imaginatively used, so as to secure maximum participation by members of the community 2. With other management colleagues, contribute as required by the Theatre Director to the formulation of s annual business plans and budgets; and to the setting of annual and periodic business and service targets and objectives 3. Management of s Access programme, including but not limited to leading the Access Champions Forum and driving the Attitude is Everything programme 4. Maintaining an active invigorating Schools Partnership programme 5. Maintaining the Creative Company young producers scheme 6. Arranging an annual programme of family orientated performances in the Studio Theatre 7. Creating and running workshops that engage the community in active performing arts activities particularly in the holidays for families in and around Guildford 8. Maintenance of strong partnerships with key stakeholders from the local community including, but not limited to, Guildford Borough Council, formal and informal education sector organisations, arts and non-arts organisations 9. Represent with creative learning partners attending meetings such as the TYA Programmers Forum and the House Forums 10. Identification and execution of marketing activity specifically aimed at building audiences for s Creative Learning programme, in partnership with the Marketing Team 11. Management of in-house productions and workshop programmes for young people, including the management of project budgets and the maintenance of sound financial records 12. Recruitment, induction, training, motivation and performance management within budget of Creative Learning staff, creative teams/practitioners, volunteers and artists, to ensure that their performance contributes to the achievement of s Creative Learning quality, service and business targets 13. Management of work experience and internship programmes at, in line with the Theatre s business, service and quality targets 14. Development and management (within budget and on target) of a public access programme to, including, but not limited to, pre and post show talks, tours and open access events 15. Contribution to the development and management of Health and Safety at Work policies at, ensuring that all Creative Learning staff, visiting artistes and creative personnel, volunteers and work experience students are fully briefed and (where appropriate) trained in line with Health and Safety policies 16. Ensuring that the Creative Learning Department conforms to all legal and regulatory controls and measures which are related to any area of the Post holder s accountabilities, particularly in relevance to working with young people 17. Act as Safeguarding Officer on behalf of

4 OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The post holder will: 1. Dress in accordance with Company uniform policy and wear protective clothing as issued, if applicable; 2. Attend meetings as required and if required take notes; 3. Undertake any relevant training and development that may be required and keep abreast of developments in his/her field of expertise; 4. Carry out any other duties as required from time to time, taking into consideration the grade of the post and the capabilities of the post holder; 5. Undertake Duty Management shifts from time to time as required to ensure the building can operate during Creative Learning activities.
