1 JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Corporate Partnerships Executive Reports to: Corporate Partnerships Manager Location: London, UK Salary: 31,000 per annum Grade: 7 Contract: Permanent Hours: Full time (37.5 hours) BACKGROUND Over the past 80 years, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) has developed unparalleled expertise in responding to emergencies and helping uprooted communities to rebuild. The International Rescue Committee UK is part of the IRC global network, which has its headquarters in New York and London. The IRC is on the ground in some 40 countries, providing emergency relief, resettling refugees and rebuilding lives in the wake of disaster. Through 26 regional offices in cities across the United States, the IRC also helps refugees resettle in the US and become self-sufficient. IRC-UK Our European headquarters, IRC-UK, was established in London in 1997 to support the organisation s global activities and particularly to diversify its donor base and to better advocate with European policymakers on behalf of the people we serve. Since its establishment IRC UK has grown rapidly and is now acknowledged for its high quality project management, technical expertise and, increasingly, our policy and advocacy work. The IRC also has offices in Brussels, Germany and Geneva, as well as regional programme offices in Greece and Serbia. IRC-UK comprises approximately 90 staff across five departments. The organization is launching a partnership with a high-profile, consumer-facing brand (henceforth the Partner).The partnership sits within the corporate partnerships function of the philanthropy and partnerships team, with key connections to the European Communications and Policy & Advocacy teams. 1

2 TEAM CHART PURPOSE OF THE ROLE Reporting to the Corporate Partnerships Manager, the Corporate Partnerships Executive will support the Philanthropy and Partnerships team in developing and delivering IRC-UK s growing corporate partnerships programme, contributing to the overall fundraising strategy and targets. The role will support with both account management and new business development. It is a newly created position. SCOPE AND AUTHORITY Authority: This position is responsible for supporting the delivery of the corporate partnership programme and contributing to the overall fundraising team target. The Fundraising team is expected to raise over 5m in FY2017 and has ambitious plans to grow this significantly to FY2020. Responsibility for Resources: This position will support the Corporate Partnerships Manager in producing and maintaining the income stream s expenditure budget. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Reporting into the Corporate Partnerships Manager Works closely with member of the philanthropy team including the Philanthropy Executive and the Trusts and Foundations executive. 3 MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES a) Deliver a programme of excellent cultivation and stewardship (40%) Support the Corporate Partnerships Manager in managing relationships with corporate supporters, through the development of tailored communications, grant reports, meeting briefings and other updates. Working closely with the Corporate Partnerships Manager and Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships, support excellent senior stakeholder relations including the CEO, Executive Director, Senior Management Team and UK Board in order to deliver bespoke corporate partnerships. Support partners and country offices in the delivery of successful field visits as required. b) Prospect and develop donor relationships (25%) Identify potential new corporate partners aligned with IRC values and programmes, and where appropriate request corporate gifts of 50k+. Undertake prospect research that will help tailor approaches, working with the Corporate Partnerships Manager and the Strategic Operations Manager. Produce partnership engagement plans, bespoke communications and compelling funding proposals and reports. Support the Corporate Partnerships Manager and Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships with briefings for prospect meetings, attending those meetings where appropriate. Liaise with US teams, the UK Award Management Unit and Field staff (globally) to ensure timely and accurate project funding information is matched to the requirements of donors. c) Maintaining infrastructure, record keeping and inputting to budgets (20%) Ensure all donor related activity is appropriately recorded on IRC UK s donor database. Contribute to information required for the overall strategic and financial planning as required. Carry out administrative activities and support, as required. d) Championing collaboration (15%) Support the Corporate Partnerships Managers in the development of a seamless, global approach to corporate partnerships, working collaboratively with colleagues in Europe and the US and globally. PERSON SPECIFICATION Essential Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications Demonstrable experience of raising funds ( 25k+) from corporate partners and/or equivalent Demonstrable experience of identifying, cultivating and stewarding relationships with corporates and corporate foundations and / or influential contacts. Excellent knowledge and understanding of the principles and methods of philanthropy and partnerships fundraising. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and enthuse, through the delivery of strong internal and external communications Ability to identify potential corporate partners, produce partnership development plans and be able to implement and execute them. Ability to establish and build relationships with colleagues and senior stakeholders at all levels and from a variety of backgrounds, both externally and within IRC. Understanding of the data protection landscape for corporate partnerships. 3

4 Ability to understand and demonstrate commitment to IRC s Equal Opportunities Policy and to ensure all activities are consistent with Equal Opportunities. Understanding of and/or interest the global refugee crisis. Experience Experience of a creative and strategic approach to the cultivation process of successful high level relationships. Experience of managing supporter information on a fundraising database e.g. Raiser's Edge. Experience of writing persuasive and creative proposals and correspondence in a range of relevant styles, which reflect relevant corporate partnership markets. Experience of compiling information from various global stakeholders in order to create compelling tailored reports and updates for donors. Experience of using Windows-based software packages, including word processing, spreadsheets, electronic mail and the internet in order to deliver tasks and projects. Experience to devise, implement and monitor short and long term plans and strategies, taking remedial action where necessary. Desirable Experience of collaborating on complex, multi-faceted corporate partnerships. Understanding of budgets, financial reporting and strategies. Involvement in managing events. Fundraising qualification such as the Institute of Fundraising Certificate or Diploma. Special Conditions Must be flexible and able to work occasional weekends and evenings. 4
