THE OPPORTUNITY FFI is seeking an International Accountant to enable and champion best practice financial management across the organisation by supporting FFI s country office finance teams in the monthly management account process. This exciting role will provide vital assistance to our global finance teams in improving the delivery of high quality management account information and balance sheet reconciliations. You will be CCAB qualified or equivalent and be a member of FFI s UK-based Finance Team, while working closely with FFI s overseas finance staff. You will have extensive management reporting experience, including budgeting and forecasting, and have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Your strong communication, interpersonal skills and customer focus will enable you to build effective personal and organisational relationships. 3 FFI currently provides a pension contribution of 2% of salary after 3 months continuous employment, rising to 8% of salary after the completion of 6 months continuous employment, or following completion of probationary period, whichever is the later. FFI also provides Group Life insurance, currently set at a benefit of 4 x basic salary. Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 5.30pm, with a one-hour lunch break. JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Reporting to: Line Manages: Key Internal Relationships: International Accountant Head of Finance N/A UK-based Finance team members Overseas-based Finance team members Programme Team Administrators Purpose of the role To champion best practice financial management across the organisation by supporting FFI s country office finance teams in monthly management account and year-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow forecasting Specific Responsibilities: Support country finance teams to comply with FFI s month end procedures Review monthly management accounts submitted by each FFI country office, following up on any queries as necessary Review and approve overseas office balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis Oversee the calculation of accruals, prepayments and other adjustments in overseas office accounts, and the entering of these into FFI s finance system In conjunction with the Head of Finance and regional Finance Business Partners, assist in the development of global finance policies and procedures, and work with country teams to ensure compliance In conjunction with the Financial Accountant and country finance teams, develop monthly cash flow forecasts for each FFI country office and assist in monitoring and revision as required Assist in the update of FFI s inter-entity funds transfer processes

4 Assist country finance teams with the processing of funds transfers from the UK and ensure that these are properly allocated and reconciled in FFI s finance system Perform intercompany account reconciliations on a monthly basis Assist in the development and ongoing maintenance of a Fixed Asset register for each country office Process country finance transactions into FFI s finance system where no country finance staff are in place, including providing temporary cover as may be required In conjunction with the Financial Accountant, maintain the global register of bank accounts, ensuring all information is kept up to date Assist country finance teams in implementing recommendations made during internal and/or statutory audits Support regional staff in the implementation and use of finance systems Provide assistance and training in best practice financial management as required Update and maintain finance and administration systems as required, to ensure accurate financial management and reporting Assist country offices with year-end processes and, in conjunction with regional Finance Business Partners, assist in compiling supporting documentation as requested by auditors Carry out any other reasonable duties which are consistent with the post and the aims and objectives of the position General Responsibilities: Ensure the timeliness, quality and effectiveness of financial management information produced by FFI country offices Support the Finance Business Partners in providing high quality financial analysis and monitoring across the regional portfolio of projects Provide assistance with the annual budgeting process, and with reforecasts as required Provide purchase and sales ledger cover when necessary Assist the Finance team in ensuring compliance with finance policies and procedures Respond to general queries and undertake ad hoc tasks Duties may be altered, reasonably added or delegated from time to time to reflect changes within the organisation s activities and structure.
