22 Summary (I) % of enterprises in Serbia evaluate the economic situation of the industrial sector that they are operating in as a very or rather positive, Austria follows here on the second place with % of companies. On the contrary, only % of enterprises in Croatia see the economic situation of their economic sector as very/rather positive. In Slovenia and Bosnia nearly out of enterprises do so. % of enterprises in Serbia see also their business outlook for the next months as being very or at least rather positive. In Austria, Croatia and Slovenia slightly more than each second enterprise evaluate its business outlook for the next year as being very or rather positive. But only 7% of enterprises in Bosnia evaluate their business outlook for the next months as very or rather positive. 7% of enterprises in Serbia and % in Slovenia plan to rather increase their export activities within the next months. Bosnia and Austria are following behind with 7% and % of enterprises which are planning to rather increase their export activities in the next year. 23 Summary (II) % of enterprises in Bosnia plan to strongly or at least rather increase their investment activities in the next months. Serbia (%) is following on the second place. days is an average payment term, that Slovenian enterprises give to their customers. In Croatia nd Serbia the average payment term granted by enterprises to their clients are days. % of enterprises in Austria have experienced a payment default by their customers within the last months. In Serbia there is each second enterprise that has experienced payment default within the last year. Austria brings up the rear, with % of enterprises which are planning to strongly or at least rather increase their investment activities in the next months. On the contrary, Austrian enterprises have to wait on avarge only days to get their bills payed by their clients and in Slovenia day on average. In Bosnia the number of companies that have experienced payment default by their clients is % within the last year, Croatia and Slovenia are following slightly behind with % of enterprises that experienced payment default(s) in the last months. Payments defaults were named as one of the greatest risks to the company s profitability in almost all countries participating in the study, except Austria. 24 Summary (III) Regarding the associations that enterprises in other country might have with : - Austria: It is mostly evaluated as a stable, strong, successful and well developed and organized economy with a high level of discipline and high level of professionalism. - Bosnia and Herzegovina is rather seen as an unsuccessful, bad, challenging and unregulated economy. Only in Slovenia about each fourth enterprise evaluated Bosnia as a successful economy with a growth perspective. - The associations with Croatia are quite different between the countries: Enterprises in Austria and Bosnia mainly associate it with tourism. Enterprises in Serbia and Slovenia see the economic situation in Croatia rather as being challenging and in the state of regression. - Serbia is rather evaluated as an unsuccessful, unstable and challenging economy by the majority of the countries. On the other hand, Bosnian enterprises see it as a successful good developed economy that is similar to the Bosnian.. - Slovenia is mostly seen as successful, well developed and well organized economy. Austrian enterprises however see the economic situation in Slovenia rather as difficult and negative, but still with the growth potential for the future. Overall economic index that reflects the present and future economic outlook for the enterprises remains stable with some slight positive shift in all countries. Especially in Slovenia the present as well as future economic situation and business outlook are seen some positively by both SMEs as well as corporations.
