4 1 THE QUEBEC CPA ORDER THE ORDER The Quebec CPA Order has 39,000 members and 5,000 future CPAs, making it the third largest professional order in Quebec. It represents all areas of expertise of the accounting profession: financial reporting, strategy and governance, management accounting, audit and assurance, finance and taxation. Vision With a view to protecting the public in a constantly changing environment, the Order actively supports CPAs so they can fully realize their leadership role by creating value in their organization. 5 1 THE QUEBEC CPA ORDER CPAs As key actors in Quebec s economic and social development, CPAs are known for their integrity, expertise and leadership. If professional development is important in the business world, it is crucial for CPAs, as it enables them to: uphold public confidence in their work; promote the long-term financial success of their clients or organizations; expand their expertise and acquire new skills that improve their effectiveness and increase their income. Many CPAs head organizations that employ CPAs and professionals from different fields and encourage continuing education. By becoming a training partner of the Order, you will gain access to a network of members who hold decision-making positions in their organizations and have constant training needs.

8 2 THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AT THE ORDER The Order is committed to helping CPAs develop their skills by offering them quality training that meets their wide-ranging educational needs. The Order s professional development program is planned by a team of CPAs to meet the needs of CPAs. This team determines the training activities that should be offered to members based on the skills that must be developed and the knowledge that must be updated in eight areas of expertise: audit and assurance digital age and information technologies finance financial reporting management and management accounting professional ethics and public protection strategy and governance taxation Priority will be given to training activities that concern the digital era and information technologies, as the Order intends to guide CPAs through the changes impacting the profession.

10 3 TRAINING PARTNERSHIPS WHAT IS A TRAINING PARTNERSHIP? For several years, the Order has adopted a proactive approach to determining the needs of its members in order to provide them with relevant products and services. Thanks to this approach, the Order has since added over 500 training activities to its professional development program by signing agreements with partners from various sectors. In the interest of enhancing its range, the Order is always on the lookout for partners that offer complementary training activities to those already in its program. As part of a new partnership agreement, the Order chooses the partners training activities that best meet the needs of its members and their colleagues. Registrations are processed on the Order s website and transferred periodically to the partners concerned. When you become a training partner, you join a seasoned team. Your training activities will become part of a program that is recognized for the quality and relevance of its activities.

12 3 TRAINING PARTNERSHIPS SELECTING OUR PARTNERS Selection process Submission of partnership offers: anytime Final decision: in January Planning of the following training season program: in autumn New partner selection criteria Complementary training activities to those offered by the Order in the various sections of the catalogue The partner s expertise Training level and relevance for CPAs Topics that are not already covered, in whole or in part, by other partners training activities Availability in several regions of Quebec Public accessibility Range of e-learning and in-class training activities offered Language used in the training activities (French or English) Eligible training activities under the regulation on compulsory continuing education (e.g. training activities that concern networking, sales and marketing are not eligible) Rigorous program design process The training activities offered in the current program are analyzed. The current and future needs of members are assessed. Complementary training activities are sought among those offered in the market and by organizations interested in becoming partners. In the coming years, priority will be given to training activities that concern the digital era (big data, data governance, artificial intelligence, blockchain, etc.).

13 3 TRAINING PARTNERSHIPS SELECTING OUR PARTNERS (CONT.) Registration rates Participants in the Order s activities can use a Corporate passport or the CPA Promo to register at a lower cost. Partners must accept this pricing policy for their training activity registrations. More information will be provided on this policy during preparatory meetings with the selected partners. Important: The Quebec CPA Order does not have an accreditation or recognition process for training activities offered by its partners.

14 3 TRAINING PARTNERSHIPS PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT EXECUTION, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Main responsibilities Partner Logistics of its training activities Adherence to the schedule for submitting descriptions of selected training activities, the calendar and the training sites Billing the Order Communication with the Order s participants concerning any change that impacts a training activity Proposal of new training activities Order Promotion of the training activities covered by the agreement Receipt of registrations from members and clients (non-members) Periodic submission of registration reports Transfer of the number of registrations per session at the partner's request Partnership agreement The standard contract may be sent upon request. The content of the partnership agreement and registration management during the season are explained at a preparatory meeting with the interested organization if it offers training activities that meet the Order s criteria. The contract formalizing the partnership has a term of 12 months, from September 1 to August 31 of the following year, and must be signed by no later than March 31 for the training program beginning on September 1 of the same year.

In the event that your organization is considered, one of our representatives will contact you when the program for the following training season is being prepared, usually between the months of August and January.
